judging by some of the tweets from the Phillies writers, it sounds like Howard is speaking now or just finished. It sounds like surgery is likely.

They just showed him on crutches going to his locker.

It appears it's a Achilles injury....just not sure of the severity of the injury an MRI will tell the damage. He'll be down for sometime in the summer maybe.

I will say one thing. I don't know if it's the Phillies post game but I have no clue why Ibanez is one of the first having to answer questions on TV.

The should be in the treatment room talking to Howard.

The media doesn't get access to those rooms. Often in these situations, the first guy who comes out is the first one the media pack goes to regardless of his role in the game.

I know they don't get access. My point was, Howard should be facing the media, not Ibanez.

He did. He told the print reporters that he will have surgery and that he felt a pop when it happened. Maybe the TV crews didn't stick around long enough for him to show.

They are saying surgery already? Jesus, good thing his contract kicks in this offseason. Not only did he decline but he could have possibly had a serious injury, BEFORE it was necessary to extend him. How do GM's get paid that much money and make such horrible decisions?

    A. This is Cholly's fault for not losing to the Braves like he should have
    B. As much as Ryan Howard is a running joke in my mind I didn't like seeing that other than the fact the Phiws are paying him $120M starting in the spring.

It's why I will never side with management in sports labor disputes. Players only have a certain amount of years in the game and if someone is dumb enough to give you that money, who's going to say no?

Yeah, man. I don't like injuries, but i just don't get the concept of extending people early. Howard thinks it's ripped, that would make a year, I would imagine. Howards agent needs to send bricks of gold to Amaro, he wouldn't get SHIT this offseason if it's as bad as he thinks.

No doubt, If I were Ryan Howard, I would have been driving 150 mph to sign that contract, this is why.

Agreed, completely. It's not on the players, but at some point, you have to live up to it. The Red Sox signed Crawford to be Crawford, not what he was this year.

I'm not even really upset. These clowns will head off on exotic vacations and enjoy their mansions all winter and dont even give a shit. So why should I get upset about it. Maybe imalive can pull my rant from last year that he has saved on his clipboard.

Didn't even know about the Howard injury. I'm just not going to say anything so I don't feel bad about it later.

Cards were the better team. What are you gonna do? I told everyone they would be a bitch to play against.

Baseball never works the way you think its going to. 2009 was the last year I felt confident in the outcome early in the season.

I was less upset at last night than I anticipated but for very different reasons. I had lower expectations than you guys did, for once.

Everyone said the offense was a problem all year.

I pulling for the Tigers here on out, I think. I just hate Valverde. Like Leyland, like Verlander, like Caberea. Detroit could use it. My old man always pulled for the team that beat the Yankees, why not get beat by the best.

The division series is the one that can trip you up. Even when the Yankees were playing the Twins and although they've always beaten them, I always feel nervous in this round because of how abrupt it can end if one game goes wrong.

Agreed, although I was never really nervous when they played the Twins. In 2009 on Memorial Day weekend at Yankee stadium, I knew those two teams would be playing each other in the Series and thought the Yanks would win.

I thought if the Phillies won this series, they would win it all. I like either of the AL teams here on out.
