The Saranac Pumpkin Ale is pretty good too. Heading to a pumpkin beer fest before I head up to the Yankees game next Saturday, assuming timing works out.

i don't drink..but i read cliffy and jearlpam were unhappy with one type of pumpkin beer a few pages back(not enough pumpkin flavor)

Yeah, the Dogfish Head which is usually awesome. Definitely not enough flavor, more of a havest ale.

Yeah, Dogfish Head. Their beers don't do much for me these days. Sam Caligione is too busy making TV shows. That's why I recommended Weyerbacher.

In homebrewing, an ale takes 4 weeks from production to bottling. One week for fermentation and 3 weeks for carbonation. That's why Hurricane Irene wouldn't have had any effect on currently available beer. Lagers take longer to make; maybe a few months. I have never made a lager.

Anyways, definitely look out for the Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale. It's fucking awesome. Better than Dogfish Head "Punkin" ever was.

I really need to give this a shot. Have been thinking about it for 2 years now.

Nice, I will definitely check it out. I am pretty sure I noticed they are going to be at this festival I am going to next weekend.

I got like 5 pumpkin beers for Towson vs. Colgate homecoming (Weyer, Blue Point, Southern Tier, Blue Moon, and Buffalo Bill). The best I've had so far is Southern Tier Pumpking - they make the best funky beers IMO. However, if Ithaca Brewery ever blows up like they plan I'm sure I'll be changing my mind. On a side note I can't believe I'm going to a Towson homecoming game relatively sure they will pound their opponent and get ranked the next week.

PJ 20 was so fun to watch...I want to see it again. I think my fave part of the night was walking to James Joyce with Fixer after the show and being offered free drinks twice by this guy who was way drunk and never actually getting them. I can't wait to see the bonus stuff, and I also was a bit sad that they basically sped thru the last 10 years. Maybe they'll come out with PJ22 to make up for it.

those guys were a little off. super friendly, but once the guy told me he spent last year's WS in jail I kinda lost interest in my discussion with him.

you never know what kind of characters you're going to come across at PJ events.

wow...i got caught up with the manager who knew all my old bartenders from Maggie Moore's (RIP 2005-2009), then the dudes who were teachers. Whatevs it was a great night, and like I said didn't end up in bed till 3 in the morning. Needless to say daddy duty on mom's b-day was brutal. As my mother-in-law says "you play you pay".

So, I got the playoff tixx yesterday. The seats are actually decent - 329 for WS Gm 6, 140's (LF) for DS & LCS. Much better than the Section 304 I got for 2009 WS. I think the 300's in RF are the only real bad seats in that stadium.

I got screwed. I got 432 in LDS, 433 in LCS, 205 in WS for game 7.

I prefer LF to RF, but I did OK

NLDS game 2 - 201, row 4 (gonna miss this game as I'll be overseas)
    NLCS game 1 - 105, row 8
WS game 7 - 109, row 32 (Game 7 of the WS in philly is the one thing that has a remote shot of equaling being at game 5 of the 2008 WS)

    .

You beat me to it...I think dogfish head is overrated. great, their beers have high alcohol content. that doesn't make them good. I think they are average.

Also, pumpkin beer in general is tremendous. One of my favorite things about fall, which is the best season by far

even though RBI's don't matter and aren't important we are playing without our 4th and 5th hitter in the lineup. and using minor leaguers out of the bullpen. we are fine. our starting 8 and top 4 pitchers are still the best in the league and it isn't close. besides the guys struggling now won't struggle for 2 months so they are getting it out of their system. rollins and victorino should be hot right around the time the playoffs start. get and/or stay healthy and things are fine. only bad feeling is we are going to kick atlanta's ass again at the end and end up hurting ourselves by giving us a tougher and more annoying 1st round opponent (if it's the cards im gonna put my fist through a wall having to deal with larussa for at least 3 more games)
