It's getting pretty bad. A tie!! What the hell. I like McNabb a lot, went to the same school with him and have always been a fan, but he's just not a stellar quarterback. He's good, but not a great. I loved Cunningham back in the day, but McNabb is just like Cunningham. A talented QB that just cannot take the team all the way.

Did they forget that Westbrook is on their team? 14 carries?

Since Reid has 2 more years on his contract at 5 mil a year, you may be waiting a while to watch football.

I don't see Lurie firing Reid and giving him a check for 10 million anytime soon.

Was this a joke?? He's been in the league how long and he doesn't know you can end a game in a tie?

"I didn't know that," said McNabb, who played a leading role in keeping it tied. "I've never been part of a tie. I never even knew it was in the rule book. I was looking forward to getting the opportunity to get out there and try to drive to win the game. But unfortunately with the rules, we settled with a tie."

Like he's trying to blame this on the NFL that the game ended in a tie, like it's some new rule they surprised them with.

this is absolutely unbelievable to me - how the f are you in the NFL and not know you can freakin tie? God I've been a huge McNabb supporter over the years but it is almost impossible anymore to support this guy. Between shitty play, laughing all time, getting winded after scrambles and now this - I thought he was smarter than this. It's incredible that he doesn't know the rule. and easy freakin rule too.

way to be a true fan - jump ship during troubled times. I love fans like you - it is easy to wear the jersey and pretend your a big fan when they are winning. thanks for coming - see you in 7 or 8 years when they are good again.

Alright, take it easy, buddy. I'm sure you felt like your jabbings of what a "true fan" is should only come from the like of a "true fan" like yourself right? Let's all settle down and accept two things: 1. The season's over & 2. It's time to rebuild around a new QB and - I know this isn't going to happen - a new coaching philosophy.

"I didn't know they had ties in the NFL," he said. "In college, high school and Pop Warner, there are ties. I wonder what would happen in the playoffs or Super Bowl. I guess we are aware of it now."
    -Donovan McNabb

And THIS only makes things worse.

You cant be serious? dude I've been a season ticket holder with my family since the 80's..I've seen it and been through it all with the birds. to say I've "jumped ship" is a joke. I said I will not watch another game until Reid and McNabb are gone. I didnt say "fuck the Eagles, I'm going to root for someone else." The Reid/McNabb era has run its course and for the most part is was a good decade BUT THERE HAS BEEN AND WILL NOT BE A SUPER BOWL WITH THEM AT THIS POINT!
Have you been watching? have you heard the retoric? We've bought into it because they were winning...now they are going on 4 years since the Super Bowl and only 1 appearence in the playoffs..and that was WITHOUT MCNABB. I was a Mac supporter but its time for a change. Reid is completely incapable of coaching against a much improved NFC East AND a much improved league. He flourished during a time of mediocrity and once the teams around him started to get better they all figured him out.
If you want to continue to live in your fantasy world and think that Andy Reid, Joe Banner, and Jeffrey Lurie have it all figured out then by all means..drink the kool-aid..but I for one have seen the light and until they stop trying to fool us and start putting their "pedal to the metal" as Mr Lurie so elequently stated they are not getting my money or my time on Sundays.
And let me ask you something "True fan", did you enjoy watching that performance yesterday? Have you enjoyed watching this team the past couple years? Do you like how they throw mish mash WR's TEs and FBs out on the field and call them football players? If the answer is yes to any of these questions then congratulations "true fan" you've bought in to the system...but if you are like me and LOVE your Eagles so much that you can't bare to watch them implode then maybe...just maybe you can understand why I cant bare to watch this trainwreck.

yeah I pretty much said I was a bandwagon fan..you're right..that EXACTLY what I said..go watch them go 8-8 or 7-9 and buy into the "maybe next year" mentality...I'm done waiting..I want my Super Bowl championship...I want the "gold standard" to live up to their hyped up name...that makes me a bandwagon fan...34 years of rooting and crying makes me a bandwagon fan.

you said you wouldn't watch them until Reid and McNabb are gone which to me is clearly stating you are a bandwagon fan. I never said you had to drink the Reid-Banner-Lurie kool-aid and agree with the direction of the team - but saying you won't watch them because you don't like the coach or quarterback is the absolute definition of a bandwagon fan. not sure how you can disagree with that assessment.

No, it doesn't. How does that make any sense? If he was to say he's not going to watch the Birds until they were good again, then that would make a bandwagon fan. To protest to not watch the team because you have a serious problem with how you feel the team is being operated is definitely not reason for a bandwagon. If anything it shows more passion for the team than any other action right now. Your logic would have someone say "Hey, you guys fucking suck and are doing nothing to acknowledge it so I might as well go on Stub Hub buy a $150 ticket and keep buying their merchandise." ...If there was a game not to watch this season it was yesterday's. If the Eagles were as good as I believed they should be, they should've beaten Cinci easily and put up 20-30 points on these guys...AT THE LEAST! And, it you can't beat them, or in this matter tie, then you have proven to me how bad you really are.

actually a bandwagon fan would sell their seats now on stub hub instead of going to the game. please read below pay close attention to number 5. I can't believe I am actually being debated on this.

    Whatever helps your argument.

If it's any consolation I passed out in my recliner watching the 1st half. I MUST be a bandwagon!!!

There's a difference between being a bandwagon and being stupid. To actually invest my time and emotion in this team at this point would do nothing but piss me off. I like having some sanity. If you actually root for this team the same you would if they were a contender, then that's idiotic. Going into this season I felt great about this team - I was sorely mistaken.

    I read number 5:

Once your team starts losing, stop cheering for that team. If somebody asks you about this, simply tell the person that you don’t really care all that much about this particular team, anyway.

There is a difference in saying you don't care about a team that much and saying that you care so much are so pissed off with management and coaching that it hurts to even watch anymore. See end of Rich Kotite and Ray Rhodes era. Sadly the end of the Andy Reid era is heading that way and we have two more years of it because Lurie will not let a coach go before his contract is up - see Ray Rhodes.

Luckily my friends and I making up rules for a drinking game to keep the Eagles games fun to watch over the next few years of this. Have a drink for every badly over/under thrown pass, have a drink for every play call that makes no logical sense, drink a shot for every wasted time out or bad challenge, etc. If the Eagles are inept, it shouldn't take away from my enjoyment.

so saying if they win the next 3 in a row (which i dont think they will but if they do) and get back into contention for a playoff spot you will then re-invest your time into cheering for them again? again see previous link number 5 - saying you will only cheer when they are winning is clearly a bandwagon fan. i can't spell it out any more clearly - you even admit to it without actually calling yourself a bandwagon fan. i am dumbfounded by you saying you will only watch if they win yet argue against being labeled a bandwagon fan.

Dude, you really are ridiculous on this topic. Of course I'm watching the games, but I'm not going to get pissed and cheer either way like a psycho when I have more knowledge than that when it comes to the game.

This dude doesn't even know me and he's calling me a bandwagon fan. Yet, I've traveled acoss this country over 5 times to see this team play. I can say and do whatever I want, especially when I've invested thousands of dollars in this team.

ok i think we are getting each other confused - the person I called a bandwagon fan was the guy (i think it was Petrocs) who said he wouldn't watch any more games until Reid and McNabb are gone. I never intended to call anyone a bandwagon fan other than the person who said that.

Either way - I think you're off-base on the topic. As he made the statement in frustration and how he feels that this team is raping us all. There's nothing wrong with that.

oh christ dude come off it..the only bandwagon fans out there are Cowboys, Yankees, and Red Sox fans and you know it..as for your assessment and your "guide" to bandwagon fans I say this..What I said was I am not watching this team break my heart again this year...I am on too much of a high from the Phillies that I will NOT have the "gold standard" remind me that my first love (the Eagles) are a mediocre / below average team that was "supposedly" a Super Bowl contender according to this organization. They lied...AGAIN. The coach is a moron and the QB has seen better days. Its time to move on. Dude I sat through the 3-13 season and went to EVERY FUCKING GAME..i will not have my allegiance questioned by you and or anyone else. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars rooting for this team. I am fed up watching subpar effort.

Have a drink for every badly over/under thrown pass, have a drink for every play call that makes no logical sense, drink a shot for every wasted time out or bad challenge, etc. If the Eagles are inept, it shouldn't take away from my enjoyment.
You guys must be blotto before halftime on a regular basis. :D
    This weekend we rock Portland

oh christ dude come off it..the only bandwagon fans out there are Cowboys, Yankees, and Red Sox fans and you know it..as for your assessment and your "guide" to bandwagon fans I say this..What I said was I am not watching this team break my heart again this year...I am on too much of a high from the Phillies that I will NOT have the "gold standard" remind me that my first love (the Eagles) are a mediocre / below average team that was "supposedly" a Super Bowl contender according to this organization. I am fed up watching subpar effort.

my final comment - not watching because they are losing equals bandwagon fan whicih you admit you are going to do - regardless of previous commitment you are freely admitting you are quitting on the team. see you in 7 or 8 years when they are good again.

and you can keep sitting there Sunday after Sunday watching the same effort from the same coach and the same QB who havent been able to get it done for you in 10 years..funny how you think for some reason I wont come back if Kolb and some other coach come in next year or in 2 years and stink up the joint for 5 years...I'll still be right there in section 203 watching each game pal..win or lose I bleed green...I'm just done with the Reid and McNabb era...like I stated...but you seem to have overlooked that statement to what YOU interpreted as. My frustration runs with the coach, QB and head office..not the name symbol on the jersey
