Crazy this was nominated for best picture. I did feel invested by the end of it though, so not bad... and I always like looking at Brad Pitt. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

As a heterosexual male, I actually agree with this statement.PJ_Soul said:

My daughter loved it. I shall be checking it out.PJ_Soul said:
I really loved this. Someone here said it was boring... I totally disagree, but I suppose it seems reasonable that someone who doesn't have a genuine interest in Shakespeare might think so?? I'm not sure. In any case, I was completely enraptured by it, and really moved. If it actually won best picture, it would not bother me, and also be a funny kind of positive payback for the travesty that was the Shakespeare in Love win, lol. Also, I really hope that Jessie Buckley wins that Oscar for this, because she is indeed great in it.Seeing her win was a nice surprise. Always like it when the least-known actor wins.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -

Watched this during breakfast Sunday morning. Both my wife and I thought it was much better than we were expecting.2011: Vancouver

Strange but the entertainment value remained low. Nicolas Cage wasn‘t a plus, but I‘m interested in Lovecraft‘s short story now.0 -
every clip I've seen of frankenstein reminds me of the over-drama ridiculousness of Jason Segal's character's muppet rock opera in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

^😂
The ending is actually quite more emotional than I thought.
And yes, Brad Pitt in F1 was ridiculously movie star cool. He definitely helped amp up that movie, although I’d argue cinematography in the races was also quite cool. But there is a reason they hired Pitt.0 -
goddammit. halfway through I realized I'd already seen this. getting old is stupid.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

Sadly. This one could have been decent.HughFreakingDillon said:goddammit. halfway through I realized I'd already seen this. getting old is stupid."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
suspension of belief and all that, I get it, but it consistently bugged me that the machine in this one seems weaker than the one in T2.Spiritual_Chaos said:

^agree to both. I’m a sucker for cosmic horror and this one was like the short movie in Creepshow with Stephen King turning into a plant, except without some of the goofiness and ick factor turned up.0

That's an enduring problem with them going in such a diverging direction in T2 with the T-1000, but then later on trying to make something new but still staying within the same framework. As in T3 where it pretty much was a T-800 but with blue eyes instead of red, but also a T-1000.HughFreakingDillon said:

My personal belief is that they should have just stuck with another T-1000. With it being an "advanced prototype" in T2 there is no reason they could not have sent back a 2.0 prototype with the added feature of being able to split himself into several copies. But without having that "now the endoskeleton is new and in black" pointlessness. I thought that actor did a good job as a new "Robert Patrick".
I found the most baffling thing in Dark Fate writingwise being that they wrote in two good terminators protecting the John Connor-stand in: The Mackenzie Davis character and Sarah Connor. I don't see what David characters has to do in the story, when Sarah Connor in this fills up the role of the protector and then we have the added robotsupport of the Arnold T-800.
