Last week I was convinced Rose Byrne should win the Oscar for best actress (and I would still be happy about that), but after seeing this last night, I think Jessie deserves it.

I don't think the Robert Redford film "Sneakers" is as good as you all told us @PJ_Soul
For years and years you yapped about this film.

I'm gonna turn it off. Nice seeing Donnie Darkos mom though. ALSO KNOWN FROM THE KEVIN COSTNER EPIC DANCES WITH WOLVES WITH NEIL YOUNGS BUFFALOS

Huh? I have never ever told anyone that Sneakers is great, or talked about it at all. Must have been someone else!

besides how striking the film is, the narration just kept sounding to me like a bad Awnold impression. lol.

    Okay, just saw it.

Performances are great, especially Jesse Buckley. Set design and costuming is nice. The story is a bit bonkers, and it is filled with all kinds of ideas. Certain plot threads could have been the centerpiece instead of others, and it could have been a different movie.

Should you see it? If you are budgeting, maybe not. But if you want to see something crazy, that you might not be fully on board with, but will enjoy all the big swings Gyllenhaal takes, yeah it’s worth your time.  There are some strange scenes in the beginning that I wasn’t vibing with totally.

I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it. I have a hard time recommending it to anyone who is a casual movie goer.

Well... I have my cinema subscription so it would be "free". Im seeing Elvis tomorrow at 15:30. And Bride is showing at 20:30. Thinking about hanging around in the city and catch both.

I think I will see it. But nothing in it is attracting me. I don't even like the original Universal Frankenstein movies. Nor the Robert De Niro one.

Today The Piano is showing on 35mm. Haven't never seen it.

Wuthering Heights.  Never read the book.  Every character is deplorable in the movie.

they were, I just absolutely hated (and it's a running joke between myself and my wife) the line Meryl shouts near the end. Just cringeworthy overacted dialogue.

So does Holly Hunter really love Harvey Keital in a ”the great love in fiction”-way, or does she somewhat settle for the guy who tried to blackmail her for sex?

Funny, you said The Piano, and my mind went to The Pianist. I’ve never seen The Piano.

Secret Agent was decent enough.  Sentimental Value on the other hand was a snoozer.  I was pulled out of Stage 1 Nodding Off by a couple of Stage 3 Deep/Heavy Breathers.  Fortunately, no one achieved Stage 4 Snoring.
