Recommend watching the original (1988) version.Fun fact: According to the director George Sluizer, Stanley Kubrick called him after seeing The Vanishing to tell him it was the most terrifying film he had ever seen and he had already watched it 10 times.Athens 2006. PJ_Soul said:I'm ashamed to admit I had never seen this before. I figured it was high time I did.... I think it's really overrated. It's only okay IMO, although I really enjoyed the hilarious drunk driving scene, lol. Some people say this is their favourite Hitchcock movie. How can that be?
Put hitchcocks 'The Rope' on last night. Had to turn it off. A little too creepy of a start. Didn't sit well with me.
Funny reading a Willie Nelson book today and mentions hitchcock...said something like he wanted his movies to be like a bad dream you are happy to wake up from. I didn't give the Rope a chance to scar my brain!
