No, he probably had to go to prison to get sober. It just didn't work for me because I really didn't believe that that character would have done that. I really don't believe that anyone in his position would have done that. The sacrifice was too large, and I don't have that much faith in humankind, apparently. It just didn't ring true. It was a really good movie (with a good soundtrack), but I just didn't like the end because it was unconvincing.

I agree PJ_Soul. I can see if he wasn't in his true element (which was being TOTALLY WASTED ) that he might crack, (pun intended). If he was sober & feeling uncomfortable maybe, but doubtful. I know too many alcoholics, I never saw any of them with a conscience when they were drunk, just doesn't happen. But I did enjoy the movie, even better than Argo, which I saw the night before. Affleck may be able to direct, but he still sucks as an actor  .

The new G.I. Joe. Easily one of the worst movies I've ever seen!!! It's was HORRIBLE! Didn't even come close to the first one. The Rock was the only reason I didn't walk out. He was entertaining.

i thought it was way better than the first one. wasn't nearly as ridiculous i thought. some things were at least plausible.
That's the reason I loved the first one. It shouldn't be believable it's G.I. Joe! :fp:
The second one was boring as hell.

They're are plenty of believable things on everywhere else. Pretty much everything on TV is reality. Movies should be an escape for reality not a version of it in my opinion.

She also told me that pilots and surgeons have their own AA groups. People in AA hear some incredible stories but apparently nobody can handle hearing what kinds of things pilots or surgeons have done.

I com plenty u derstand why they would have their own AA groups. I know that if I went to an AA meeting, and someone there said that they were flying a commercial airplane or operating on people while drunk, I'd go out of my way to figure out who they are and report them, AA oaths or whatever be damned. My conscience wouldn't allow me not to. So yeah, makes sense for them to keep it in the family!
