    Rocketman

I basically hated it, because it's actually an honest to God musical, where people are breaking unnaturally into song and choreographed dance numbers in the middle of the story. And with fantasy scenes with bits of Elton John songs being sung here and there randomly. A kid even sings some of them. I just happen to really dislike the musical genre. My friend, who loves musicals, thought this movie was fantastic. I think anyone who likes musicals will probably enjoy this. And I suppose she had a good point about how the format of the movie is probably appropriate for the subject - it allowed them to take it more over the top, and Elton John certainly was and is that in his stage presence.

My other complaint, not nearly as strong, is that the actor, while pretty good generally, simply didn't come close to meeting Elton John's singing talent. The songs sung sound okay, but lack the power and emotion Elton has... it's more at the level of good quality karaoke IMHO. There are other biopics about musicians that are so much better in this context. Like La Bamba and Walk the Line, for example. And then with Bohemian Rhopsody they just used Freddy Murcury's real vocals, since no actor who looks like him was going to be able to come close so sounding like Queen.

Bad Times at the El Royale

    Sure, why not?

Just my opinion but Chris Hemsworth is the worst actor of his generation.

    Inception.

I always skipped this one as I never thought I had time to watch a 2.5 hour movie that was supposed to be confusing.  Anyway, I finally watched and it was really good.   Not all that confusing unless you really, really over think it.

The Hole in the Ground (2019)

I enjoyed this one. Typical A24 slow burn horror. Great cinematography.  Mild complaint: Very dark film but not surprising with lower budget offerings in this genre. Still a pretty film at times despite the drab colors. Not a new story in the least but I thought it was done very well. Available on Prime.

    JFK

I hadn't watched this in a long time. Great movie. I had forgotten what an absolutely amazing list of actors that were in this movie. It might break some kind of record, lol.

I liked the film, but I'll take Natural Born Killers over that Stone film anyday!

(I just looked up his filmography - amazing how many movies he made I both love and can't stand)
