    Avalanche (MST3K version)

I'm up to episode 10 so far. Avalanche has the most well known names of them. The stuntman jokes at the end are the funniest.

"She died as she lived! Lit up!"

It was good. Not as good as the book, but it holds up.

Big thumbs up! Great dialogue. Nice humor, despite the heavy subject.

Yeah, totally. It was actually one of the first things I thought of after the announcement last year. He seems to have embraced the zen though.

    The Girl on the Train

    I really enjoyed this movie.

    Just watched The Thinning.
Excellent concept - a film about nations' ways of reducing a completely out of control population crisis in the not-too-distant future. America of course comes up with a very sinister and bizarre method, and this movie focuses on that and touches on the subject of political manipulation/favourtism. Unfortunately it's made in a way that is kind teeny-boppery, and focuses way too much on love interests. I wish the movie had been made in a more adult sort of way, and was darker, and little less ridiculous. Still, the concept is fascinating... it's a bit frustrating that so many dystopian future movies just don't bring the right tone (IMO). Most of them seem kind of white-washed and too polished, and don't get into the nitty gritty enough for them to even feel remotely realistic.

    Collateral Beauty.

Oh, man, did that ever get to me because I've been fairly close to something like this, but what a fine, fine movie.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.
