Saw Get Out over the weekend; decent movie, but 99% on Rotten Tomatoes? Really?
the PC hipster crowds love it
I really liked it; not loved it.
The scene that almost turned me off was the...."family party" scene (don't want to give anything away). Almost checked out because that ran too long, but then it rebounded and was pretty friggin good.
Not sure if that Jordan Peele dude has directed much else, but really liked the way he shot it/directed/choice of music/what-have-you.
Moana - First Kids/Family movie I've watched in ages and didn't mind it. Well done
Fences - Brilliant performances from the cast , especially Denzel and Viola Davis. Not sure on the movie as a whole though. Liked it, but not up there with other great movies that came out in the last 12 months.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me

I didn't mind it. Good action, beautiful cinematography. Biggest problem is that it could use deeper, more fleshed out characterisation for all of its characters. Not totally unexpected as it's based on a video game.

Man, there were way too many dorks wearing white pillow covers on their heads that didn't get slapped enough. I wish the peanut guy could have at least choked on a peanut.

I liked the subject matter in this movie, and always enjoy Matthew McConaughey, but I found the story to be a little all over the place and hard to follow at times. I think that could be blamed on both the screenplay and the director. Didn't help that several of the women in the film seemed to look almost exactly the same and some relationships were never explained at all - I wasn't always sure who was who as far as the white women went, lol. Is it his wife? His sister? His neighbors?

I agree that it was hard to follow at times- not to mention it ends rather abruptly.
1982 horror film "loosely" based on the book of the same name. It was ok, had its moments.

This tagline makes its sound more terrifying than it was when I saw it on IFC years ago back when they played good movies:
"We dare you to watch the last 30 minutes of this film without screaming, covering your eyes, or running from your seat!"
Werewolf transformation scene and beheading near the end were cool effects though.
Big Eyes
It's so refreshing for Tim Burton to be out of his gimmicky goth weirdo and Depp comfort zone for once. Easily his best live action movie since Big Fish.

Easily the best of the odd numbered movies.

Not bad. It's basically Flatliners, Pet Semetary, and Lucy rolled up into one story.
