    The Gift (2015)

It pretty much sucked. Not the worst movie of all time, but the characters are awkward and you just don't give a shit about any of them. It is impossible to feel invested while watching it.

Oh NO I was gonna go see this today!!
Sorry! .... Hey, you might not agree with me and like it, you never know. I will give it one thing: it has a reasonable plot twist. Not great, but not bad.

I saw man from uncle again instead anyway. No one else wanted to watch the gift. I missed about a quarter of the movie the first time anyway. Turns out it's a guy Ritchie movie, which explains why I liked it so much. I was not aware of this before yesterday.

    Payback

Is it OK to still like Mel Gibson, the artist? I mean, people still watch Seinfeld all the time after Michael Richards' went apeshit, right?

Anyway, I remember really digging his performance in Payback.

And Martin Riggs was a brilliant creation.

Also, he's my favorite (film) Hamlet.

    I struggle with this.

I've got Hamlet in my Amazon queue since it expires in a week. I just wait until after theaters to watch movies with creeps like him and Cruise. Not paying $9 for MI5.

I'd love to see him direct again, though. Apocalypto is underrated.

Straight Outta Compton. Decent/solid film. The guys who played Easy, dre and Ice cube looked/acted so much like them.

there was one minor error in the movie that kinda bothered me though. The opening scene takes place in 1986. We see Easy E wearing his famous black White Sox hat. Only problem is the White didn't start wearing them til about 1990.

Also Ice Cube's son plays him in the movie so i guess that is one reason why i thought he looked like him.

    A Long Way Down.

Pretty awful, apart from Toni Collette, who's always great. Nowhere near as good as the book.

I liked it too. It wasn't the greatest in execution I think, but the concept made up for that IMO.

I agree--the concept made the movie. I love how she's able to teleport and time-travel at the end.
