Touchofgray16 wrote:Thanks everyone for your replies. The bruising looks bad, but she is doing okay. I gave up driving when I moved back to Manhattan from the suburbs and I don't miss it at all. The ironic thing is my apartment comes with a free parking space. LOL. Free parking in Manhattan and I no longer own a car !!!
Anyway, Sticky, maybe I'll see you at Coogan's on Monday or Tuesday. I would take a referral if you speak to your sis. Hope, too, that you are okayAah, fuck it, I’m just gonna go home, turn on the fuckin’ TV...

I am glad your daughter is okay. That must have been so scary for her...
Who in the hell hits someone and then leaves?!? I cannot even imagine doing that, or even knowing someone who would. I hope they get her really quickly so that they can blood test her to see if she was drinking. Either way, she is an idiot.
She might have gotten just a little slap on the wrist had she stopped. There has to be some sort of extinuating factors as to why she didn't.
Keep us posted,I still want you all to "take care"--I am just damn tired of typing it.

Good for him. Situation brought out the best in that guy.
Hope your daughter is fully healthy first and that this woman is caught and dealt with by the law.
thats a damn fine point...i was so incensed by the piece of shit driver i forgot that there are still some excellent people out there.....:)0 -
glad she's doing ok...sounds like you might have a very hefty lawsuit against the nypd as well as thr woman who hit your daughter. the officer appears to have been negligent to wave the driver through the intersection while pedestrians were crossing. this negligence is especially evident in that the cop didnt even know there was an accident in the intersection right where he waved the driver throughShawn Smith / Brad / All Hail the Crown / Satchel

The guy is an angel ! It was a Friday @ 5:15 PM in Midtown near Penn Station. Thousands of people around, all just wanting to get home to start the weekend. Then here is this one guy, who has to travel home for an hour and half by bus out of Port Authority and who will miss part of his nightly routine with his 2 and 1 year old children (he'd now be home after their bedtime), unselfishly gives it up for my kid. What a guy ! I want to send something to his home and thinking perhaps something for the kids. Don't want to send flowers. Any suggestions?"Tweet"

Right, Kerry (my daughter) said the TWO traffic cops on duty did not even respond. They went on directing traffic. I am going to check with the good samaritan to see if he included this in his statement - which I believe he did because he was also almost hit.
Later on, while we were in the emergency room and Kerry's thinking was clearer, she laughed and said she had just remembered what she was thinking before she got hit, "The traffic cops do a good job of keeping the cars moving"."Tweet"

holy crap Mama. I hate to say that it doesn't surprise me so much there are some jacked up people in this city, but thank God for that Good Samaritan, he truly was her guardian angel. I am sorry she was hurt, but thank God, it sounds like it could have been so much worse. I wouldn't have thought of a lawyer, I would have just thought to thank God she's ok.
Hang in there mama."...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

My daughter was on her way to her job as a bartender and stood to make quite a bit of money for her shift. Now she stands to lose a couple of thousand dollars because she can't return to work just yet. Believe me, I was more than happy she was okay, but insurance is there for a reason. My daughter should be compensated for her injury and lost wages and the only way to get compensation is to hire a lawyer
Besides, this was a crime - a hit and run and an error the part of the traffic cops. It shouldn't happen to anyone. And, yep, we love our guardian angel"Tweet"

is she single? Maybe it will be some great 'how we met' type story, he's her hero! Is he single?
couldn't she apply for disability also?"...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

oh, wow. I'm so sorry to hear that your daughter was hit :( I'm glad she's ok.
How could any decent human being not stop if they hit someone??? Especially after they were informed about an injury involved - and the woman had to know that she would be reported. Perhaps she did have something more to hide - drinking or similar. And police on the scene not doing anything? Crazy!
Kudos to the guy who helped her out!Check out my Sudsy Chick Etsy Store for all natural homemade bath products!0 -

LOL, no he is the father of two toddlers. He was really good-looking, though. As for all the cops at the precinct who enjoyed ogling her...actually they were very respectful, but now they know where she bartends."Tweet"

I've said it before: maybe she had a liquid lunch.
Many, many years ago I was in a motorcycle accident and the person driving the car that hit us got out and ran. When the car's owner was confronted by detectives, she said her car had been stolen (unreported). It was actually her son driving her car when the accident happened. Lowlife. Anyway, the guy who helped my daughter got a good look at the woman, so she can't pull the same bullshit."Tweet"

I was in a car accident when I was like 20. The other guy was driving a Jeep and I saw him at the police station when we were filing the report and I had a boyfriend at the time and my mom was like (about the other guy): He's Cute! I was like, MA!
aw that would have been a great story though if he were single. But what a guardian angel he is. He will be blessed immeasureably.
And men in uniform! Woo hoo.
I'm wondering if this will be on the news tonight. I'll keep an eye out for the story. Maybe they want to publicize it to catch the person?"...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

I doubt it would be on the news because her injuries were not life-threatening. All they have to do is go to the address the DMV has on file because the good guy took a photo of the license plate.
As for your Mom, she sounds just like me. I am always pointing out the "cute" guys even when the girls are in a relationship !!! They always shake their heads at me and say, "MA!!!". LOL"Tweet"
