I'm gonna be a Pisces. That way, we can title the experiment "Astrology: A Pisces Hit, or a Piece o' Shit?" :D

Right so you're a Libran and you're going to become a Pisces. :) (I'm ignoring the toilet humor :p )

And I'm a Virgo and I still haven't decided who I want to be for the experiment. What website are we going to work off? We should probably be in agreeance about that and we'll need one which has a daily horoscope.

Anybody got any suggestions about a good site? :)
    NOPE!!!

How about the one Abook already linked to? That seemed to nail me as a Libran, so it'd be interesting to see if it does the same when I'm a Pisces. :)

I just read both signs horoscopes for today and the Libran sounds a lot like things you've mentioned to me recently. :)

What do you think about the Pisces horoscope?

Yeah, the Libran one was actually fucking precise - remind me to talk to you about that soon. :o Pisces was way off.

I hardly ever read my horoscope...unless I just happen upon it in a paper or magazine somewhere. I like to be surprised by life so what would be the point whether it was true or not? If you read your horoscope first thing in the morning and it doesn't sound too good for you, then you might start looking for bad things to happen everywhere you look and that's just not a good way to go about things. :)

I just checked and I think the one on that site for me today is pretty close to how things have been going for me lately...so that's kinda neat.

    .....and will do. :)

On our train ride into college, me and my friends like to compare horoscopes, and laugh at how accurate or wildly wrong some of the ideas are. Especially when there are two newspapers on offer with two contradictory horoscopes. :D

Yeah, horoscopes CAN be complete bullshit depending on who is writing it and what they know or what their purpose is even...some are just too vague and are written by opportunists and some are just random sounding crap, imo.

That said, I have read some that were very accurate. I don't know if horoscopes are the most scientific way to discredit astrology.

Newspaper horoscopes are to astrology what Fox News is to... well, news. Some perverted, wrong version of it. :p

  • Astrology falls in to the same category as religion with me.

    It's all crap.
    my thoughts exactly.

i heard in astronomy class that the earth's axis has shifted slightly since the zodiac signs were established, so your birthday doesnt necessarily actually correspond with your so-called sign. dunno if that's true or not, but either way i don't buy into zodiac stuff.

(i'm a leo and hardly fit the profile)

I'm a believer and I've found that people seem closer to the traits of their signs when they are more receptive to their inner self/true nature/intuition. I was this way, actually...a few years back, I decided I wanted to stop rationalizing away all of the wonder in life and wanted start putting more emphasis on my emotional intelligence, gut feelings and learn more about the mysteries of life...now that I look at the traits of my sign which I just got into about a year ago, I see how I fit them pretty closely but couldn't have said the same just a few years back....kinda neat to me anyways. :)

Of course, there is no absolute rule and some people just won't match up sometimes, as well.

I have always thought you were an Aries! You seem a lot like one to me. :)
The basis of fire signs like Aries is that they are active, and act...and are dynamic, etc. I am drawn to the fire signs, for sure...out here, for example, to those like yourself, baraka, and Byrnzie, who is also Sagittarius. (I also tend to love the air signs, as I've mentioned...and particularly love Libra since the Taurus shares with Libra, it's Venusian rule, and love of high spirituality, harmony and beauty! )

I definitely have fiery traits, and am dramatic, etc. But predominantly, I am very calm, grounded, centred, etc. and very non-active, being in my mind a LOT. I'm very, very determined and can spend years following through on things. My pace is so unactive, but mostly methodical. I'll get into things far deeper than some due to this earth-sign persistence. I'm very Taurus in such ways. This board has definitely helped me develop my more fire-sign-like traits, which is cool. In the "real world", I'm not nearly even remotely as confrontational as I am here! Not even close. I'm rather very cooperative and supportive which is way more Taurus than Aries.

What I think is very cool about fire-signs is that they are the signs to move beyond the collective groups/tribal mindsets and group emotions. The are individual! In this sense, I've gone past my base Taurean nature. Fire signs can't tolerate having to submit, etc.

I think I've gone beyond my Sagittarian base, also. I was just talking to Kabong about this last night. I have a close friend named Oscar who is a Taurus and we have always enjoyed the same things in life but our personalities never seemed to click to where we really could tolerate each others quirks. I spent some time with him Saturday and we just clicked like we never have before...we kept echoing each others sentiments. So I went and read about it and found that if Sags are more in touch with their compassionate side then they are much better around Taureans. :)

"Fire signs are supposedly impatient with less extroverted people, especially earth signs, who they believe are extremely manipulative and will smother the fire of life. They are believed to resent the earth signs' slowness, plotting and preoccupation with detail, and hate the way they pin others down."

I have two Leo siblings, and two sagittarius ones. I get along with and am close to one of each. The other Leo and Sagittarius are the two sisters who are intolerant of and don't speak to me! :(

And yet, it was my sagittarius brother who stood behind me all along, even when others didn't.
