    :p
I'm actually a lot worse with films than with music you know :p What you perceive as pretension and snobbery with regards to my music tastes is just diversity and a desire to amass a greater understanding of music. When it comes to films I'm actually an arthouse snob. A film either has to be fun, mindless entertainment/in the "so bad it's good" category or it has to be a masterpiece, otherwise I'm not interested ;) No time for ordinary films.

Literally 2/3 of my DVDs aren't in English. I'm not kidding :D

Great movie, mostly because of the performances, but how in the world is anyone able to watch this movie more than once? It's so intense it lives with you forever after just one viewing.

I thought it was tremendously overrated personally. The ending was shocking and depressing as hell but I don't feel like the film was particularly well handled, I felt nothing for the characters, it was all just very unpleasant but not even in a "well that's the whole point" kind of way, it just seemed like a good shot that missed the mark a bit, for me.

I read someone describe Requiem as making Trainspotting look like a Disney movie. If that's the case, The Panic in Needle Park makes Requiem for a Dream look like an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. It's too melodramatic where it should have been raw and realistic. Like you say, I don't particularly want to watch it again.

Leto was great in it though.

  • Other than My So Called Life, Requiem is the only thing Leto's ever done that's worth mentioning.
