“You cannot live in defiance of God. He (Ledger) got on that big screen with a big, fat message: God is a liar and it's OK to be gay,” said Shirley Phelps in a statement sent out by the Topeka, Kan.-based Westboro Baptist Church.

Absolutely out of control and I wasn't aware they also did this to fallen soldiers. That's disgusting.

sorry but organised religion is the most corrupting influence in the world today. I am all for spirituality. I consider myself very spiritual. I don't see why the fuck religion has to come into that.

The wonderful Mr. Biffo once said something - and I'm paraphrasing... "I'm not religious. But I believe that if religion didn't exist, humans would just find something else to kill each other over."
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

religion is for the weak.. its a mind creatine
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

no... SOULESS people are weak! We did create God (I think). It gives us a depth, a conscience and COULD bring out the beauty in the world if people weren't such followers, pesimists or shallow!

eh... go search for "Richard Dawkins Vs Teg Haggard" on youtube and see which one has depth and conscience :) I'm no fan of Dawkins but Haggard is a twisted, creepy piece of shit. Dawkins wants to understand the world, Haggard fears that one day we'll understand it without God. I know which side sounds more like winning...

define "souless" people...and how does a creation of God bring out beauty into the world? I don't quite understand...

To me, religion is a scam. It is a way to control and brainwash people in order for the hierarchy (in any religion) to prosper. And what you are saying about " if people weren't such followers, pesimists or shallow" - THEY ARE! Humans are stupid in the great scheme of things, and religion just adds to this stupidity. It was never designed to really "help" people. Have you ever read most parts of the bible? Most of it involves acts of creulty, abuse, and vengence - all human traits.

I understand your wishfull thinking about religion bringing out the good in people, but the only way that could possibly happen is if there was 1 single religion. Even then, we would probably find many issues to disagree on and kill each other over...

Did anyone see that they were out the front of the screen actors awards with a sign that said "Heath is in Hell" a reporter from ch9 in australia said to one of them "you know there are people in the world furious with you right now?" and she said "that's fine honey, it is his fault for commiting sodomy" (or words to that effect)

    That is just imo

I didn't really mean the part about being shallow pesimists, etc.
I still stand by what I said about God being beauty and not a scam but that's because I'm meaning in a spiritual sense and not so much religious.

i have no soul... i also know that i'd never join a death cult, i also know that i have no fear of hell... i also know that me not going to a church every sunday makes me stronger than the fools who do go... why? because i dont sit in my house and worry that if i dont go to church i'll be damned forever... the weak-minded people are trying to do everything right just to get into heaven, and they do the things that people tell them they must do... prey, church, etc.

i dont do any of those things as i have no fear of the consequences of not doing them.

thats strong willed, thats me making my own mind... me NOT being part of a flock.

YES! That's the most obvious answer. I personally am not talking about heaven and hell because I don't believe it but I believe in a man made God and a soul. I think anyone who's felt loss, felt happy and thinks and enjoys nature around them, has a soul. Belief doesn't necassarily mean you have to believe in the stuff you read or hear.

Anyway, my original point was that not every Catholic, Christian, Muslim is evil and it's unfair to say the bible is trash because to some people, it isn't.
