    Anyway....Birks and keens ?

my mum calls them thongs too! (and she's american!) actually sometimes she gets confused and calls them "tongs." I'm like no mum, tongs are what you pick up chicken off the grill with, you mean "thongs" but in this century "thongs" go between your butt cheeks and "flipflops" go between your toes...

The most comfortable shoes I own are a pair of Danner Fort Lewis boots. They are kind of a pain to lace up, but the ankle support and foot bed are great. I add a pair of Danner Airthotic arch supports because of my high arches... best footwear, ever.
    ...
wear shoes for comfort and support... not fashion.

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

I agree. Best part of skiing is taking off your boots and getting into a nice pair of shoes.

PS I could never go commando in a pair of jeans...

Reason # 85 to Snowboard

I usually wear adidas, nike, vans, tsubo, and Salomon shoes.

I've not owned a pair of trainers - sneakers - in 20 years, that is until two weeks ago when I bought a pair of black Addidas. I've always been a shoe man - brogues being my faves. I used to wear steel toe-capped brogues. They were great. I used to get turned away from some bars and clubs though as the doorman told me I could do too much damage to someone with them if I got into a fight.

Something like these babies, but mine were snazzier and shinier...
