I started coloring to get the grey out
and paid $250 for a cut & highlight (I have long curly hair). They were cool and it was a great experience.. but.. yeah... Nice & Easy, $5.99, Walgreens
I highlight other people's hair from the store-bought kits and they look just as good as a professional!
I still do pay about $60 + tip for a cut every 2 months...

About once every 3 months or so.........Sen, Yeild2pearljam and I sit around and do fun stuff to our hair at my place. It usually makes for a long, messy fun night (Cheap too) and it never looks like it wasn't done by a professional  Sen bleaches all of our hair (parts of it) and then we add fun colors. My last hair color was FISHBOWL. It was fun

Highlights are expensive, but I love them so much more than all-over color. I need to get some done again.
let me see if I can get a pic...it's always hard to see it in different lights, and I'm terrible at taking photos of myself.0 -
thankfully i don't think i have one!! with hair shows...you never know what you look like until awhile after the show. imagine my suprise when i saw my crazy makeup (a pink explosion all over my face) and my overly styled mullet. at least the color looked good, dark brown w/ platinum blonde highlights underneath.Lizard wrote::eek: Post a pic!!!!
i'll see what i can dig up.yes...i do feel like a human. i do not feel like a tree.0 -
I know it's not an outrageous price for what you had done...but damn, it is nice to not have to deal with this kind of shite now that I'm single again....$200 every couple months for hair...$50 a month for nails...$50 a month for tanning minutes, unused $300 gym passes, $40 face creams, the occasional manicure/pedicure, waxing, new fucking shoes and purses every two weeks....all for me :rolleyes:0

it took me forever to figure out what you meant here...then I figured out that you were a guy. But seriously, YOU paid for all your wife's shit when you were married? Crap, I need to get married. (but seriously don't complain if you volunteered to pay for it! and besides, some of that stuff you listed is definitely no necessary, but some of it is. it sucks, women have to spend sooooo much more money than men).0 -
I won't spend more that $15 for a haircut.. my hair looks fine.
If I have to spend more than twice that, I'll start cutting my own hair. I mean, its just hair. There's people starving in the world.0 -

where on earth are you finding $15 hair cuts? the GUY I work with was going nuts trying to find one for under $40.
yes, there ARE starving people in the world. are you giving all the extra money you save on your righteous haircuts to starving people???
God, I'm sorry I posted how much the damn cut and color cost if I knew I was going to get this much f-ing flack. I was trying to make a point about how poor the service was. and AGAIN, the CUT did not cost $200, the STREAKS did. jesus, you try to do something cool and change your appearance and get some streaks in your hair and suddenly your causing all the problems in the world. I met a guy last night who bought a $1000 prada bag. I think that's beyond nuts, but to each his f-ing own.0 -

Exactly. Almost everyone with disposable income has *something* on which they spend "too much" money. I don't see what the big deal is.0 -

lol...well...I won't bore you with the details of our financial squabbles... I didn't pay for everything...we both worked... but our money was shared, and it ended up being a constant struggle over what WAS necessary, and what was fair....I def didn't volunteer to spend that money.
That said...I understand the fact that women DO have to spend way more than men just to look 'normal', and have to spend ridiculous amounts to look 'good'....and I do like a woman that takes care of herself, takes pride in her appearance, etc....but then, there is a difference between having nice clothes, makeup, being well groomed.... and being stupidly high maintenance.0 -
MY hubby got me a Burberry purse from Neiman's and it was $575...I wanted the the huge purse, but I love the one he got me anyway!!
