He reminds me of Chris Farley on SNL interviewing Paul McCartney! "That was awesome!"
I was thinking the same thing.
Groovy interview... and that beard is badass! Mike gives a great interview, and he answered all the questions so well... except for the album part... "infancy stage"... kidding!
Keep them coming Zack!

I watched this a few hours after seeing Neil Young live here in Spain, so it made really special.

I think it's funny that so many of you think Zach did a great interview. I thought he was a bumbling idiot, and 90% of the questions he asked.....Mike had probably been asked 1000 times. Nothing new here.
Zack did a very nice job and got more out of Mike than you ever would have.
That was weird. He was talking about his favourite shows, I wondered if he would say Slane Castle in '93, and right then he did. Can I read McCready's mind?
He did??? wow! I can't listen to it.

assholes? no one can be honest around here because the person responsible posts here? all i saw anyone say was he seemed nervous... zack himself confirmed that... we all wouldve been... its pretty obvious that mike is outgoing enough that he couldve made a great interview out of any questions... it wouldve been nice to have some more in depth question and different responses than "sweet" and "that was bad ass"... but thats what professional interviews are for... i guess since i havent been following zacks work the whole tour and he works for spin so i was expecting something more professional (not that i blame him for being casual, since it proves hes a big fan) and dont really have a personal relationship with him that prevents me from being honest... it was a fun interview and i like the face melting question... but mike is really what made it for me... had he been interviewing stone it probably wouldve been a snoozer
anyway... good job zack!... just giving some constructive criticism... you seem like a good guy
I think it's funny that so many of you think Zach did a great interview. I thought he was a bumbling idiot, and 90% of the questions he asked.....Mike had probably been asked 1000 times. Nothing new here.
Here are some questions that Mike might never have heard before:
Why do you think "No Code" has become such a cult favorite album?
Why do you think the general media thought PJ had a "comeback album" with Avocado, when Riot Act and Binaural kicked so much ass?
What made you guys change your arrangement of "Garden" in recent years?
Thank God you guys are finally playing "All Night" from Lost Dogs. What song off Lost Dogs do you most enjoy playing?
Do you ever get tired of ending a show with "Ledbetter"? What's your favorite closer?
You don't play much slide guitar. I can only think of Red Mosquito and Thin Air. Is the slide something you need to practice, or do you just go out there and do it when asked?
Ect....
Hey, maybe I'm just a "bumbling idiot" too, but tell me - what exactly does "Ect..." mean?!
ain't nothing special about those questions of yours either, ego-man

I can't believe this interview finally happened! Does anyone have any idea if this happened because of the "Zack to interview PJ thread"? I mean we all kept on going for it on that thread and bumping like crazy, So I'd be really proud of all of us if our persistence paid off!!
Zack, man....I don't know what to tell you but THANK YOU! That was such a kick ass interview, I loved how laid back it was and it seems like Mike was having a geniunely good time and I just love your reactions, they're not over the top like a star-struck school girl kind of way, but just to the right degree where you didn't freak out, for an obvious true Pearl Jam fan you sure kept yourself contained more than others might have! And I love the questions too! They really do seem to come from the heart and true fan questions, in a way I think that pleased Mike to talk to a true fan such as yourself! And hahah, it's soooo classic when you asked "How does it feel to melt faces?", that was awesome and definitely gave me a chuckle, but that's true! That man melts faces....heck, maybe even literally! And it was just PRICELESS when you were telling Mike the chords! OMG! One of the greatest face melters is getting lessons from an awesome fan? How often does that happen? That so awesome! I can't thank you enough for this totally awesome interview and it gave me nothing but huge smiles and great laughs! So again thank you so much Zack for your hard work and contribution and all, it really means a lot to the fans and being a fan yourself we know where you're coming from! And I say a BIG AMEN to "MIKE FUCKIN MCREADY", that should be his official middle name!! Lol! Can you believe you sat for 25 mintues with frickin Mcready?! Man....I bet you won't get over that for a while, heck, niether will I!
