That was weird. He was talking about his favourite shows, I wondered if he would say Slane Castle in '93, and right then he did. Can I read McCready's mind?

    Nice job, Zack!

I'm not sure if I've ever seen Mike open up like that.

You disarmed him with your coolness.

    Right on.

Nice interview. Mirrorball 2 would be a dream...

But Mike doesn't have neils number? So Neils a friend of Ed then, not the band..? :)

And will they play Down By The River at Boston 2? :)

that was the mos awesome 25 minutes of my life.
this is zack by the way.
also, i have been telling people throughout the whole tour
that if i meet any of those guys i would not be able to
act any different than chris farley on snl.
i knew it was gonna happen.
remember that one time in san francisco,
and you played that solo and it was like
    dun-na-na-ner, dun-na-na-na
    that was awesome.
i'm surprised the previous four lines didn't escape my mouth.
    what a cool fuckin' dude.

    and all of you,
except that asshole who said i was suckin' neil's dick.
neil is a god among mere mortals,
we all owe him a little respect.

if i knew where it was, i would take you there-

    Great interview, good job Zack!
You were just how i imagined i would be if i ever met a member of the band; smile on your face the whole time and just dying to unleash the crazy and tell him how amazing everything about PJ is!

Anyone else laugh their ass off at Zack correcting MIKE MCCREADY when they were talking about the chords to 'Down By The River'?? That was golden.

Mike mentioned Verona 2006 when talking about favourite shows he's played. Yay!

Thanks, Zack. Super interview, well prepared questions, nice smooth conversation that you both seemed to enjoy. MMc seems like such a nice guy, as well as being brilliant at what he does. It was nice to hear him describe the intuitive vibe between the members of the band when they play together. And yes, Neil Young is the man; it was clear that you were acknowledging a musician that the guys in PJ also revere.

(But question to anyone who'd know ... my screen stopped right in the middle of the interview, that is, it only played the first half. Do I have to subscribe to something to hear that whole 25 min.? Fyi, I'm on Safari, and everything else works ... thanks!)

I think it's funny that so many of you think Zach did a great interview. I thought he was a bumbling idiot, and 90% of the questions he asked.....Mike had probably been asked 1000 times. Nothing new here.

Here are some questions that Mike might never have heard before:

Why do you think "No Code" has become such a cult favorite album?

Why do you think the general media thought PJ had a "comeback album" with Avocado, when Riot Act and Binaural kicked so much ass?

What made you guys change your arrangement of "Garden" in recent years?

Thank God you guys are finally playing "All Night" from Lost Dogs. What song off Lost Dogs do you most enjoy playing?

Do you ever get tired of ending a show with "Ledbetter"? What's your favorite closer?

You don't play much slide guitar. I can only think of Red Mosquito and Thin Air. Is the slide something you need to practice, or do you just go out there and do it when asked?

It's so good to see a diehard fan conduct the interview. We typically get the cookie-cutter bullshit interviews from most mags.

Your questions seem boring to me. They are too technical / professional NY Times -ish questions, Zack asked Fan questions.

In case you still can't see it, you can jack the Url address - where it says 'http://www.spin.com/videos/interview-pearl-jams-mike-mccready-part-one': at the end of the address, replace 'one' with 'three' or 'four' to see the last 2 parts.

We spoke to Zack as he was exiting the Tweeter/Comcast Center after finishing up the interview (post-soundcheck) while we were waiting in line for doors to open. Zack was super-stoked and said he truly enjoyed himself and the interview experience w/ Mike, and honestly he deserved the experience,...
