You should check out reviews on

    http://macreviewzone.com/html/reviews/magazine/index.shtml

or another review site. I wouldn't go on the opinion on someone who doesn't know anything at all about it :)

    only 1 usb port

    No optical drive

    No firewire

a small SSD (solid state drive) think flash drive

Not upgradeable at all. If you need to replace the battery for whatever reason, you're SOL

    Want more memory? Too bad.

Relitively slow CPU Core 2 Duo at 1.8 Ghz isn't blazing fast

Installing software from a CD? you can't unless you have remote access to another Mac or PC and even then that's buggy.

For some people on the go it's good though. For people looking for an all round laptop I'd go with a MacBook or MacBook Pro

How is that a POS? The battery is replaceable, but not hot-swappable!

I've had the following on my p.c for the past 4 years and have had no problems since I downloaded them...

    Av Personal edition - free
    Registry Mechanic - cracked
    Adaware - Free
    Spyware Blaster - free
    Crap cleaner - free

I did have Sygate firewall, which is free, but it's not compatible with Windows Vista, and so I now get pop-up's whereas before I didn't. Windows Firewall is shit.

    Well thats what I meant.

That's why I said, in my opinion. I like a laptop that I can upgrade and have more ports on it.

It's great for ppl who are on the go and don't install too many apps from a CD.

Keeping with the topic that started it all:

Norton is a big memory and CPU hog. I do like McAfee it's less prone to system lock ups. This of course all running on Vista.

Based on this post, I purged my comp of all things Norton and now it runs like it just lost a pair of cement shoes. Thanks for the idea, all.
