Torre will out-manage Pinella. Lou is over-rated. He won a WS 18 years ago. BFD! His 116 win team in Seattle flamed out in the first round. He didn't do shit in Tampa. I hope he has those Cubbies "ready" like they were ready for AZ last year :D.

BTW - how gay is "Cubbies"?

What's up with Furcal? Is he ready to go? We need him. Is Saito 100%?

Fukodome is pedestrian, at best. You can't let Soriano go off.

A pox on Jim Edmonds! From what I understand, he's always kinda been a dick wherever he's gone. He's been playing OK but I'm looking forward to watching that big, theatrical follow through on Strike Three!

VAMANOS DODGERS!!! Beat those goddamn Cubs!

I disagree on Pinella. Jesus himself couldn't have done anything with those Tampa teams he had.

    Fukudome is a player.

I am insanely excited about the playoffs. I think I feel a <cough> sickness coming on. Might have to go home early.

I dunno. The lineups weren't that bad. The pitching was bad. He's no genius, tho. Give him a ton of payroll and players, and he might win.

    An average player. :p

It's just that, historically, I haven't needed to unleash my Cubs hatred very often! :p IT'S THE REAL DEAL!

Five hours til first pitch! Too early to start drinking?

Getting Game 1 was HUGE for the Dodgers.

It gives them the confidence that a (mostly) young team needs, and it puts that seed of doubt in the Cubs and their fans that can lead to a complete collapse.

The Dodgers have momentum and a superior pitcher in game 2...if they win that one too then Cubs fans are going to really freak out...

How fucking sweet was that???? :D

Is there any bigger dagger than a two out, two strike BOMB??? (esp. on the road) :D

Reminds me of Will Clark hitting a GS in the 1989 playoffs at Wrigley. Cubs won Game 2 but were done, anyway.

I was standing in front of my TV with my Dodgers hat on (not really :D) saying "C'mon Manny, c'mon Derek, c'mon Andre, c'mon Loney, etc., etc." I think my wife lost some respect for me, but she didn't have much to begin with. :D

I'm half tempted to start some shit in the Cubs thread, but I won't. Half those "fans" only like 'em cuz they're Ed's team. :p

    Interesting postseason

Could have an all LA world series or an all Chicago series

I went to the Subway series in 2000, and it was something else

I hope one of these cities gets its wish. Pulling a bit more for LA, cause I like Torre and it would mean Angels would send the Red Sox home early

    GO LA :D

Well, not so much in the Cubs thread man. For the most part we're all real fans. But I'll give you that plenty of people on the board would "root" for the Cubs cause of Eddie, which is lame as hell. You guys spanked us, but you're organization is a class act, unlike certain other teams. So just cheer on your team like you're doing, and leave it at that for now.

PS Manny is the best postseason hitter I've ever seen, time to start walking that guy. That trade has obviously been great for you guys.

one of the best trades in dodger history....as for walking him, the way we've been hitting, if you walk manny to get to ethier, chances are a run could score....i think ethier's obp is over 1 or some crazy thing

point is, manny hasn't just played better since he came to la, he has made the hearth of the lineup stronger by relieving the pressure....casey blake also was key in helping us hit better :)
