Maybe it's the pic? I actually went to a public lecture he gave on stem cells and he was really witty and a brilliant speaker and a whole lot more attractive when he's animated.

Hmm... i dunno, smart doesn't always do it for me... sure it's good if they have an iq over 100 but I've met some super smart people who are incapable of having a normal conversation and often look down on others for doing so. So yeh, while smart's good... they need it mixed with funny and down to earth for it to be sexy
