  • you're very welcome! I saw your previous post... i'm so glad you like it!

i saw that you were a poster collector, but since i couldn't afford any of the best Ames or Klausens for 'ya, i though i'd give you print of one of my paintings instead! :p

it's a very limited edition..... so far, you're the only one with an 'artist's proof'!...

hope you're still enjoying the Wintersleep.... i'm addicted to that band! :o

Hey Santa baby :) thank you soooooooooo much... it couldn't have come at a better time. My neighbour must have dropped it in last night after I went to bed. Cos I woke up this morning and it was all dark and cold and miserable and I was coughing and spluttering (think I'm getting the cold) and all swollen eyed from crying for hippiemom :( and as I was going down the stairs a few minutes early I saw it there on the bottom step. Grabbed it and ran back up the stairs... and thank you soooooooo much, I love it. It was the easy street cd... which I DON'T have (great guess) and an easy street HIP FLASK... I've always wanted one of them and I've been buying them for others for years hoping somebody'd get the hint and get me one :D so well done you :) . Considering the day and all, it's now my hipp(iemom) flask :o so thanks for making me smile this morning.

Seems a few from over the pond sent marmite as gifts. Glad my better half got some as it tastes very good. The first taste will light ya up, but it gets better with each serving. We have an friend who is of English roots and he always calls HP sauce "brown sauce" so we gave him a taste of the real brown the other night. He enjoyed it too.
You've changed your place in this world!

so glad you liked it. i wasnt sure what to get, but something PJ related from a couple of blocks from my apartment seemed like a good idea. the cd is a good one....even though i am still bitter. we were at a bar a block down when the show was happening and had NO IDEA it was going on. they were loading out equipment as we walked by to go to our car. we saw Mike's guitar tech and were like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO".

the hip flask has come in handy many times. and you can only get it at easy street, so that's cool.

thank you for organizing this. i will definitely participate next year. and i like the idea of doing something mid year....if buying packages is too much, maybe we could do an address list and send post cards from our home town to everyone on it. i love post cards.

Mine too, though there were reasons I picked what I picked :D

I just got, (and opened), mine yesterday. I'm still not sure who my SS is on here, but I think it's a girl by the handwriting and pretty pictures.

I did an international exchange and my SS is from Finland - thank you sooo much E.S.!!

The gifts were truly thoughtful and a beautiful little summary of Finland. I received:

    - "A Winter Book" by Tove Jansson, with a lovely note included
    - a pretty postcard
    - a 2008 calendar illustrated by Martta Wendelin which is very cool, because it was fun trying to pronounce all of the months (and my SS even included the days of the week!).
    - two bars of chocolate (a sneaked a taste - delissh!!!)

... and though the rest of the items were super cool, what I think is the uber-coolest part of the gift was my SS made a donation in my name to an organization (Toisenlainen Lahja) that provides a school uniform for an underprivileged girl in Africa.

Having a SS in Finland was really neat, not only because of the cool presents, but because I also got to talk to my daughter about Finland with the presents, a map, and Wikipedia as visual aides. It reminded me of back when I was a little girl, before the internet and how easy it is to be globally connected. I had a penpal in Australia and we would wait and wait for each others letters/packages to come. There was something magical about being able to connect with other countries/cultures that way.

So anyway.. thank you so much, SS, for the thoughtfulness and beautiful gifts - and for reminding me of my past and providing me with extra special time with my daughter... I'd definitely call it a gift that keeps on giving! :)

Participating in the SS exchange was fun (and not as easy as it sounds to come up w/a gift ideas! ) and I definitely want to do it again next year!

Kudos to Helen & Surf for making it happen :)

    you're mega-welcome. :)

so glad you enjoyed your pressie.

I too finally opened my pressie!! (surprised meself for waiting so long anyway.)

and I love it!!! thanks a million miss M! ;)

I got an interesting looking card game. can't wait to play it with my bro this weekend.
I'm convinced that the game cannot be boring, for mainly two reasons:
    1) it's called Halli Galli - I reckon nothing named that can be un-fun. :)
    2) it's got a wee bell (the kind you might find in hotel reception desks) you get to ring.

also I got 2 "Mozartkugeln" (sweets, for all you non-Austrians. hehe.) couldn't resist eating the other. :o delicious!

and something very special! two self-baked personal Pearl Jam "Lebkuchen" (hope I got that word right..)!!! I mean, baked goods, fantastic!!!

the smell was soooo delicious I couldn't resist first taking a small bite and then eating "PJ".. the other one was the surfboard logo. pic not working at the mo.
(and no worries, it tasted great!)

and also SS thanks for the sweet note. :) your handwriting is beautiful.

    once again THAAAAAANNNKKKK YYOOOOOUUUU!!!!! :D

So thank you Ridin the Wave! ... I'm going to be like V V and try and wait until christmas to open them ... but I promise I'll post as soon as I can after they are opened.

Plus they look so pretty it almost seems a shame to open them ... now I've seen the wrapping I'm even more excited to find out what's inside.

Thank you again for going to soooooooo much trouble.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

I broke down and opened mine!! What a great and thoughtful gift!! A book from Berlin. A photo series about the "city language" of the area (I like how they put it, people working away at their art in public) or graffiti. What a perfect present! Thanks Andres..It will sit out on my table so everyone that comes by for the holiday will ask about it. Thanks for paying the shipping which I imagine was an issue, and the personal note always makes things special. Great postcard too. It will find a home on the fridge.
    Merry Christmas!
Secret Santa was sooo fun this year, glad I did it. It sounds like we all got paired up pretty well. Good job HH. Thanks for all the extra work you put in.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

Brown sauce is food of the gods ... I never use ketchup ... but marmite :o ... for our friends over the pond they advertise it as you'll either love it or hate it ... I'm with redrock in the hate it catagory.

i used to love brown sauce... not had it in ages.. not had the sauce either for a while.

but Marmite is one of the most evil things in the world.. who had the idea of condensing vaginal thrush and putting it onto a jar for people to eat? the same people who make clothes out of hemp and think dolphins can talk to them.. thats who!!!

now Haggis... thats a food ;)
