oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

OK, so got mine at the P.O. today. It's nestled under my little tree on my kitchen table for the moment. Not opened yet, holding out for a little while.
Whatever it is I'm damn happy to have received it all the way from Berlin.
So Secret Santa, one of my Fav actors is Benno Furmann. He is way great but picks the worst American movies to do. I want to smack him upside his head when he does stupid stuff like Sci-Fi long haired crap. Princess and the Warrior is one of my all time romance movies.
I tried taking up German, but didn't do so great.
Tausend Dank!
Sorry if that's wrong or I just called you something really bad. Will post again when I cave in and open!
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!
Just got my presents. A boot of Philly '05, A Puscifer beanie, a souvenier Liberty Bell ornament, and a box of lucky charms Really chuffed with them. Thanks for putting the thought in 'Nicole' (that was the name signed on the package, so I'm guessing that the name of my secret santa )

Okay, so, I got home from work yesterday morning at 1:30am and opened my prezzie (which had actually arrived Dec. 5th but, I didn't get home until yesterday). Oooooooo!!!!!!! The first thing that that I noticed was the chocolate SMOTHERED toffee pieces *tingles*--Good lord that is the stuff that dreams are made of!!!!! I had to start in on it right away as I have an incredible chocolate addiction and needed a fix. Heh heh, ummm, welll, I think I'll need to place an order for more as I polished off the entire bag by 7:30pm last night! I only gave away about 3 (of the smaller) pieces to my boyfriend and I did so with much reluctence I might add.
I giggled as I read the label to my next niftie giftie: Marmite - YEAST extract. Hee Hee! *insert didry undies comment here* and then, when I read your personal tag telling me it goes well with cheese--we just about cried with giggles as our gutter minds spewed forth with filthy comments; my man and I shared a few chuckles so, thank you for the laughs as well. We tried the spread with some cheddar cheese and it is delicious. "Roses are red, violets are blue, Marmite is brown, and I love you!"
Ah, and one can never go wrong giving earrings to a gal, IMHO. The cherry bomb danglies are da bomb baby! I didn't wear them to work today but, when I bust out my red blouse and shoozies, they shall adorn my lobes.
We had a listen to Candlebox and Batter Dean last night whilst sitting by the fireplace. Thank you for the sounds of Seattle. (We thought the lead singer from Candlebox sounded like a cross between Vince Neil, Shannon Hoon and Sebastian Bach ).
Now, I opened the biggest box last, and smiled the biggest smile my friend. Thank you SO much!!!!!! I absolutely love my frog wood block!!! I can now rock out to Pink Floyd's "Pigs" and QOTSA's "Little Sister" right proper. Hee Hee! I think it's just great! I actually have a much smaller version of this awesome musical froggy but, it SO doesn't give that quality sound that the large version you got for me does. I was a perfect pick and I just love it! I can rock my block off! *crack, whack, smack, crack*
I also want to thank you for the very pretty card. The sentiments are lovely.
{{{{{{{{{{{SECRET SANTA}}}}}}}}}}}}} Much love to you, and thanks again for the wonderful surprises. I hope you and your family have a most wonderful holiday season.
I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday season! And a special thanks to Heineken Helen for organizing the gift exchange, it's been a lot of fun.

The one I sent out seems so half-arsed compared to all the ones mentioned. Uh-oh.
Haven't opened mine yet.
Mine too, though there were reasons I picked what I picked
I just got, (and opened), mine yesterday. I'm still not sure who my SS is on here, but I think it's a girl by the handwriting and pretty pictures.
I did an international exchange and my SS is from Finland - thank you sooo much E.S.!!
The gifts were truly thoughtful and a beautiful little summary of Finland. I received:
- "A Winter Book" by Tove Jansson, with a lovely note included
- a pretty postcard
- a 2008 calendar illustrated by Martta Wendelin which is very cool, because it was fun trying to pronounce all of the months (and my SS even included the days of the week!).
- two bars of chocolate (a sneaked a taste - delissh!!!)
... and though the rest of the items were super cool, what I think is the uber-coolest part of the gift was my SS made a donation in my name to an organization (Toisenlainen Lahja) that provides a school uniform for an underprivileged girl in Africa.
Having a SS in Finland was really neat, not only because of the cool presents, but because I also got to talk to my daughter about Finland with the presents, a map, and Wikipedia as visual aides. It reminded me of back when I was a little girl, before the internet and how easy it is to be globally connected. I had a penpal in Australia and we would wait and wait for each others letters/packages to come. There was something magical about being able to connect with other countries/cultures that way.
So anyway.. thank you so much, SS, for the thoughtfulness and beautiful gifts - and for reminding me of my past and providing me with extra special time with my daughter... I'd definitely call it a gift that keeps on giving!
Participating in the SS exchange was fun (and not as easy as it sounds to come up w/a gift ideas! ) and I definitely want to do it again next year!
Mine came late last week, thank you again Secret Santa.
you're very welcome! I saw your previous post... i'm so glad you like it!
i saw that you were a poster collector, but since i couldn't afford any of the best Ames or Klausens for 'ya, i though i'd give you print of one of my paintings instead!
it's a very limited edition..... so far, you're the only one with an 'artist's proof'!...
hope you're still enjoying the Wintersleep.... i'm addicted to that band!
~~*~~ ...i surfaced and all of my being was enlightend... ~~*~~
Just want to say again how much fun this was. I'm so glad I decided to participate this year! So, has everyone opened their pressies yet? It is really fun hearing what everyone got!
