    I’m not losing sleep over it as I dream of Roberts stealing 2nd on Mo. You could hear a pin drop. Everyone in that stadium knew Roberts was going. Except Mo. Its a great dream.

    Oh, and then a few years later, a bunch of chickenshit thugs who didn’t want to pay taxes masked their identities and dumped a bunch of shitty tea into the harbor.

    Some history books refer to the chickenshit thugs as patriots.

    So at least one team of Boston cheaters is appropriately named.

    Dumbo's last great move as GM, investing $145 Mil in a pitcher with an awkward delivery and an injury history a year before his contract was up and not waiting to see if he could get through the season without injury. $30 Mil to not pitch in 2020 and $30 Mil to either not pitch at all in 2021 or maybe toss some rehab innings in late summer in Worcester.
    Money that could/should have been allocated to Mookie Betts instead.

    Major League Baseball's luxury tax threshold won't be reset if the 2020 season is canceled, a spokesperson for the players' association told Alex Speier of the Boston Globe.

    "There is no reset - everything will be frozen and restart as if 2021 was 2020 for (competitive balance tax) purposes," the spokesperson said.

    This will be the case only if the season is canceled outright. MLB suspended Opening Day indefinitely earlier this month due to the coronavirus pandemic, and it's not known when play will resume.

    Three teams - the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Chicago Cubs - paid into the tax in 2019. The Red Sox attempted to reset their number this winter by shedding salary, most notably through trading Mookie Betts and David Price to the Los Angeles Dodgers last month.
