    hate to admit, but you're right.....altho it's actually slow pitching that has added a half hour to games since the 1970s.....that and specialized piching.....Juan Marichal threw 30 complete games in 1968 and AVERAGED 18 per year in his 16 year career.

    the feeling is, guys (scherzer, kershaw, etc) are making so much fucking money that mgmt does not WANT them to throw complete games....kind of back assward if you ask me.

    I would much rather have Papi on my team than A-Roid if only because A-Roid didn't even charge the mound after getting plunked by the Sox in 2013, as the allegations flew. Probably because he knew his bench wouldn't charge the field. Papi would be the first one out of the dugout.

    I was at that game, section 42, row 42, bleachers. I have never felt crowd electricity like I did when Roberts stole second, Papi hitting that home run and when walking out of the stadium. Being amazed that the crowd was chanting, the air was crackling and knowing we were still down 3-1. A moment or moments in my life that I'll never, ever forget. Particularly after what happened in 2003. I smashed the chandelier leaping out of my chair during game 6, waking the house whilst dodging exploding light bulbs and glass sconces. And this is why I can die a very happy Red Sox fan!

    I was at game 5, standing room behind section 14, on my feet for something like 7 hours straight (got there right as doors opened to get best standing room spot).
    Had tix originally for game 3 (Friday night) that got rained out and they just shifted everybody to the Monday game 5 instead of making folks with Saturday and Sunday tix re-work their plans...glad I got to witness game 5 instead of the game 3 massacre.
