anyway, I never go at the weekend, too expensive...tuesday night at Cineworld Wandsworth, £4.50
(or over days at Vue with a reduc card for £6.50..you catch me paying £8-10 for a bloody cinema ticket unless it's a very special screening i.e. festival)
The cinema is where you go with a group of friends or your date. I wouldn't even go to the movies with a male friend because that would look really gay. And anybody who goes to the movies by themselves look like really big losers. That's just the way I see it.0 -

Chances are, the people who go on their own don't really give a shit if they look like losers, as they don't need constant validation from others.
That's just the way I see it.

If faced with the choice... I would rather wait until the film is released on DVD and watch it at home than subject myself to an embarrassing night at the cinema alone. With me, it's either a date, a group of friends or nothing. Period. I have NEVER gone to the movies alone, and never will.0 -
To me, thats says more about your insecurity than anything else. Why care so much if everyone else thinks you're a "loser"? And why is it embarassing? I bet most people wouldn't even notice.Odin wrote:If faced with the choice... I'm not trying to piss you off, just sharing my feelings on the subject.~AKA Dave-of-the-dead~

Most people wouldn't notice? Are you kidding me? Being alone at a cinema makes you stick out like a sore thumb. You're SUPPOSED to go with friends or your girlfriend. Being alone or with just one friend at the movies makes you look strange, especially on weekends.0 -
And trust me, I'm far from insecure. I go to many places alone if I have no one else to go with... just not the movies.0

why do you care if they notice? you're supposed to go with how you want or by yourself if you want.. thats why cinemas sell individual tickets and not pairs.
and being with just one friend makes you look weird... why?... is your friend Gay Gary who licks his face all the time and wears a pink tutu?...oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -
Where exactly is this law stated? Who says you have to go with other people?Odin wrote:Most people wouldn't notice? Are you kidding me? Being alone at a cinema makes you stick out like a sore thumb. I've been to the movies with a male friend. He actually is gay. I never realised that everyone else must now think i'm gay. Perhaps that's because they don't...and if they did I wouldn't give a shit anyway.~AKA Dave-of-the-dead~

you cant even spell 'fags' never mind say it
p.s. last time i heard someone using the words 'queer' and 'fags' were actually gay...
i've realised you cant go to the cinema alone cos you have to go with groups of other guys to watch pornos... this is because you have no girlfriend and you're ugly.
am i right? i'm right aren't i?oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

i'm 33 years old... why would i give a fuck about what some junior high cunts said to me... you're that guy who thinks High School Musical is real arent you?oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

That was such a stupid comment that it isn't worth responding to. Notice how everyone responding is from Europe. Where *I* live, the social norms are different.0 -
And i'm sure that would make you feel both big and clever.Odin wrote:LOL! If I saw you with some queer, I'd probably be like "look at those f@gs!"
Perhaps you missed the lesson on the fact that high school and college do not represent real life. Most people grow out of the immature trends that bound them during their teen years. Guess not everyone though.Odin wrote:I guess so. You must have been out of the loop during junior high and high school... and college for that matter.~AKA Dave-of-the-dead~

Odin wrote:You missed my point entirely. A 33 year-old man should have learned the facts of life a loooooong time ago.
i leant the facts of life when i was 15... which is just when you were learning that Star Trek was not real life.
I have 2 kids... i know the facts of life... and if one of them was gay and you shouted what you said you'd shout then i'd stab you in the face with a sword.oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -
