so, the UFC has posted their usual cryptic info about the weigh-ins.
All they have officially told us is that doors open at 1pm (but from what i can tell, that's for Fight Club Members only) and that it's at the Bell Centre.
From what i gather from reading additional information in the forums, there's a Q&A session at 2pm (again, for FC Members only) and that the actual weigh-ins start at 3pm. But they don't tell us when the doors are open to the public???
grrr.. these guys are brutal when it comes to communication...~~*~~ ...i surfaced and all of my being was enlightend... ~~*~~0 -
ReleasH wrote:oooohhh thanks for the heads up on the countdown and releashed shows, mookie.
yay yay yay yay yay yay yay yay yay yay yay!!! UFC 83, Montreal, Extreme Couture pre-party, meeting you all (and Gray)! I feel like a little kid anticipating Christmas morning.
sorry, releash...my guide says today....DEA followed by the countdown show. it's showing the releashed episode for prior to the new TUF episode on wednesday. has the same matches listed, though.
can i add a "yay!" ?0 -
yeah, my guide says the same thing. Can't really complain too much since the releashed episode is just delayed 24 hours.
I'm awfully curious to see who gets kicked out of the TUF house and why. And which guy they bring back. There were a couple of guys that fought well in their initial matches but ended up losing. I wouldn't be surprised if Dana White had 2 guys fight for the open spot. It would preserve the idea that they have to fight their way onto the show.
ps yay!
Edit: I just caught the preview for tomorrow TUF episode ... it looks like the guy who gets kicked off is white, with skinny not very hairy legs. I had to bring back our body hair assessments!0 -

i think i read somewhere that it's a staph infection that gets "the white guy with skinny not very hairy legs"his exit from the show. not sure who they'll bring back, but my money's on jeremiah riggs. all three seemed really impressed with his heart and the way he listened to everything rampage told him. he could be very "coachable", but he took his share of lumps during his match so we shall see...it could very well be a match to determine who comes back, though...hmmm...hadn't thought of that.

kicked off for a staph infection? Staph can be contagious especially when guys are grappling with each other, but it is relatively easily treated with antibiotics. I find it hard to believe Dana would kick a guy off the show for having an infection, but you never know.0

UFC 83 weigh-in details and info for Serra vs. St. Pierre 2 PPV event
MMAmania.com
The official weigh-in for UFC 83: “Serra vs. St. Pierre 2” will take place this Friday (April 18) at 4 p.m. ET at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Not surprisingly, the pre-fight festivities for the first-ever show for the promotion in Canada, which takes place the following day (Saturday, April 19), will be beamed LIVE across the Internet via streaming video.
In fact, ESPN.com, NBCSports.com, Sympatico MSN, Yahoo!Sports.com and FoxSports.com will all air the weigh-in for UFC 83 LIVE on their Web sites this Friday, according to UFC.com.
Pick your poison.
MMAmania.com will, of course, post the results during the weigh-in as it happens. Therefore, feel free to stop in and share your thoughts on the scale-tipping show or check us out later on if for some reason you can’t catch the live broadcast.
For those fortunate enough to be in Montreal this weekend remember that the UFC 83 weigh-in is free to attend and open to the general public. Doors open at 3 p.m. and close at 5 p.m. local time.
It’s a great opportunity to get some fighter autographs, snap some photos and get pumped for the big show. In fact, UFC Fight Club members are able to attend a special Q&A session at 1 p.m. ET and are eligible for priority seating during the weigh-in.
UFC 83 features the welterweight title fight between reigning division champion, Matt Serra, and interim 170-pound titleholder, Georges St. Pierre. In addition, a glut of middleweight match ups are slated for the show, including the showdown between former 185-pound champion, Rich Franklin, and the super tough Travis Lutter.

pps. GSP!
ppps. i still have to do my picks.~~*~~ ...i surfaced and all of my being was enlightend... ~~*~~0 -
you'd think it would be simple, eh?
thanks for the reminder, ceg. the picks! i found only a couple of matches are giving me a hard time this time. i want to pick rich, but my gut is telling me lutter for some reason, and i think i'm letting my dislike of alan belcher influence my pick for jason day. maia by submission is a lock!he's probably one of the guys i'm most anxious to meet...or hoping to meet.
probably should be picking more than one decision too...still time for ch-ch-ch-changes...:D

hey guys, just got back to the hotel for a bit from shopping... I LOVE MONTREAL...
we didnt' make it to the weight-ins or the xtreme couture party cause well we got kinda side tracked lol.
Just wanted to say, hope you are all enjoying yourselves and enjoy the fights tonite!
edit: o ya, just thought i'd add that i ran into Bisping on St. Catherine and Peel, he stopped to shake hands (would not use his right hand) and take pictures... Even though i'm not a fan, i have to say, he was a really nice/cool guy... He was just out walking around with him and his girlfriend/wife which was really cool aswell.
HAPPY 420 after we get out tonite!"I'll ride the wave where it takes me"
