What was your last big purchase?

  • $1300 - I bought my sweetie an engagement ring for Valentine's Day. However, an even bigger purchase came two days later when I had to replace all four bald tires (they're those super-pricey "run-flats") on my sedan. I had no idea tires could cost that much -- maybe if I drove a Ferrari or Lamborghini (which I most likely never will)! Makes me really miss my last car -- '94 Honda Civic. Now there's a low cost/low maintanence car!

I'm seriously jealous, Trailer! I had my eye on that particular guitar (or the 714 or 914). I was thinking this would be the year to purchase after I got my tax return. I usually buy a guitar about every other year or so w/ my tax return. But different expenses suddenly arose. Enjoy that fine axe!

Oh my god, had to google "Christian Louboutin shoes" to see what you're talking about. Do girls really spend $700 on shoes? On shoes??!?!!

I also have a pair of Shure headphones and I really like them. I've had them 3 years this March and no problems. They make listening to music more fun than it already is

I LOVE to look at shoes, but I never buy any fancy heels like that or anything because my clothes can't even come close to going with them, and I couldn't even buy clothes that would because my body doesn't support cute/together clothes (I just wear ill-fitting jeans from the gap that hang in all the wrong places)! Plus with my displaced foot bones, it would just be paying for pain!

$700 is scary though! I bought my Sanitas/Danskos to wear everyday and they cost like $115 or something and that freaked me out!

My last big purchase was .......gutters, d'oh. I do love going outside in the pouring rain and watching how well they work but they are not that exciting.

I too want a new HD TV and income tax refunds are a comin' but I don't think it's going to happen. I bet it's going to boil down to either new bedroom furniture or our savings getting a nice little additional cushion.

MacBook with an extended service plan and a Microsoft Office bundle. Nothing fancy, but not exactly a Speak 'N Spell, either.

girls that can afford $700 shoes do! :D

they are sexy shoes and even my husband said *WOW*

GTD: I usually wear the shoes with jeans and a simple shirt or with a fitted jacket. when you spend that much money on shoes you figure out a way to work them into any outfit!

  • oil for my house. over $800.

(here's your receipt and kapow! a swift kick to the nuts steve)
amen. bought 100 gallons yesterday...trying to ride out the winter with it.....$360 fucking dollars.

man it sucks. I remember when I was a kid my parents could fill their 175 gallon tank for like 140 bucks. the good ole days....

and to think this will someday be the good ole days to my son....

No, but I want those boots and can't find them anywhere in stores or on-line. I can almost justify the cost of those boots because of how often I wear boots in winter. :)

yeah that's how I would wear them too, but my clothes are so ill-fitting, it would look ridiculous. my jeans always have to be cuffed! and I never have any cute tops, I just have 5 long-sleeved tshirts and 3 sweaters from the gap.
  • I bought a MacBook about three weeks ago. I see a few of you have recently purchased one also. I love it. Although there has been a slight learning curve adapting from Windows.

It's amazing to me how it just "works". I thought I had problems with my wireless network with my old laptop. Now I just zip right along.

  • I "bought" 1300 dollars worth of surgery for my cat.

And 1200 dollars for VIP bonnaroo tickets.

I'd do both again in a heartbeat

she's doing much better, thanks for asking. We're waiting for the final test results to find out what type of bladder stone it was so we can prevent them in the future.
  • I have to say that my last big purchase was buying my house back in late September of last year. Although in the next few months it's probably going to change to a new car as my wife's current vehicle is getting dangerously close to becoming junyard scrap metal.
  • My second semester tuition and Bonnaroo ticket have been my only major purchases this year.

This isn't a lot as far as total cash, but since it was for a blog it seemed ridiculous in that big-spend way of looking at things.

I bought an annual service for an MLBlog for $50.00. I have 6 blogs on blogger that are free, but I wanted to go for this. If you see an MLBlog entitled BRob's Bobblehead Biscotti Bootleg then you know it's me. Once I start posting you'll get my angle.

Even though I've created blogs on blogger, and on myspace, i can't for the life of me figure out how to start this one. I got the receipt in email, but no instructions on where to go to type my title, my links and how to post the first post. Hmmmmmmm?

$1700 (unexpectedly) for a new washer/dryer yesterday. The old washer bit the dust and (per the wife) we couldn't replace one without the other. What a bogus way to spent $1700 :(.
