as our dear conor would tell you .....it's a personal annoyance of mine when people parade personal opinion as fact, or present an 'always' view of something when clearly, it isn't 'always' the case, not by a long shot. are there lazy ass bums in unions? you bet. are most union members lazy ass bums? i personally think not. c'est la vie.

Of course its not a fact. Who said its a fact that unions suck? I just gave my opinion and from what I have read, many in here agree.
I bet one of the reasons your husband thinks of leaving it because he works hard and hates it when the other guy does not. Nothing worse then a guy doing the same job as you but slower and not as well.

i wasn't 'arguing' with you, or anyone here...i would never bother to waste my time. i too was merely sharing my personal perspective.

as to my husband's reasons, they are myriad, but i do not care to discuss his personal pov. obviously, there is good and bad in it, as many differing situations. he is a 'believer' in strong unions, but he is not particularly happy with HIS union. beyond that....tmi.


btw - i am NOT unionized and there are people who do the same job as me, or at least share the same title, and do NOT do anywhere near as much work as i do, and some even get paid a helluva a lot more! so it is not an 'easy' solution, being unionized or not. as mentioned, certain professions it is more prevalent, and perhaps more needed. time will tell....

If a union member does not want to do something because it is not in his/her classification, he/she does not have to...But if you offer to do it for them they will say; "as a non-union member, you are stealing work from the union". It's almost comical.

They are building a new Walgreen's near my house and for the first part of the construction they had these retired Union guys picketing with a huge Blow up Rat standing there while the Non-Union guys worked

They picket because its not a Union job

Give me a fuckin break...these guys can work for a company thats non-union

Get a life..I work for a business that Union contracts for the hourly employees, luckily Im not in the Union..every contract is a pissing match in which the company doesn't bend and the Union doesn't get what it wants anyway...but their dues always manage to go up

You work in a fucking casino. You have to deal with 1 union in 1 city. Jerseys gotta have 40 or 50 different unions. So your saying that all the union people you worked with were lazy, huh.
