If not, maybe I should start my own.
If becoming a parent has taught me one thing, it's taught me that I need find a way to capitalize on new parents' desires to spend as much money as possible on their baby.I want a piece of that pie!
or what people will spend on their pets...
i still have friends from high school and some from college.....i work alone so i don't have work friends....although when i did work in an office they're really any people i thought i could be friends with outside of work....so the only other friends i have are here....:o.....and i'm going to start meeting some of them in april....;)0 -
I used to have the two groups of friends thing: My friends from my younger/wilder days and my 'work' friends.
The first group parties always, all the time' everyday...only now it's more about staying high constantly or busy finding a way to get high again. If it were just weed it would be one thing...They've mostly lost their spark and don't seem to have much joy in their lives apart from scoring their next fix. Kinda sad. They do share my taste in music, movies and places to go, however. And we've all known each other forever. But I feel we've really grown apart and are going in completely different directions and I don't know if I want to be a part of the direction they are taking.
The second group are married, some have kids. They are nice enough but I really don't have much in common with them. They have awful taste in music and feel the same way about me. So that puts going to shows together out of the question or even playing good music while we hang out. Their idea of fun is throwing meat on the grill and taking in various sporting events which is all fine and good but not my cup of tea. The movies they seem to enjoy often bore or annoy me. They like to bring up religion a lot because they know I'm not religious. They'll invite me to church and say how 'You'll really like it if I go just this once.' I guess they want to 'save' me. They are very nice people but I always have this nagging feeling like I'd rather be doing something else when we hangout.
So nowadays I'm mostly a loner and just do things with my bf instead. If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.
Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.

Then I have another group of friends who most of which are married, have good jobs, and live the adult early thirties life.
Both groups are good people reguardless of their income or extracurricular activities, but ofcourse my wife does not approve of the first group. If I go out to meet up with them on a Saturday night I get "the look".
If I hang with the successful guys its usually with the wives.
Sometimes ya just need to get away and let loose
Anyone else have this in there life?
men and women have something in common here: they are both mainly jealous of other men.
guys don't care if their girl is with her girl friends. it's nice to have her outta the way for a while and worst case scenario is they get drunk and have hot lesbian sex. if the girl is with other guys though, the jealousy and suspicion and insecurity always rear their head a little bit.
girls dont mind if a guy is with other girls. they see it as either a test, proof that their guy is decent and just be friends with women, or a great reason to fight if they feel the need. girls hate when their guy goes out to get hammered with his guy friends becos 1) she knows he's probly having way more fun with them than he does with her and 2) she fears they'll be a bad influence on him and unleash all the guy behaviors she's worked so hard to rein in.0 -

and I am one of the reasons the married friends aren't allowed to come out and play by their mom's decree...errr did I write mom. I meant wives.
which reminds me, once girls get rings they lose humor and turn into Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond wife...yeah I googled for her name)
bleeeeck! beware dudes!!! they are TRYING to Mervynize you!!!
Great description, love the Raymond reference, that character is a beeacchh!
I'm kind of the same although even my married friends can get a bit freaky which is cool.“There should be a place where only the things you want to happen, happen”0 -

don't you guys love how soulsinging knows EVERYTHING?
you really have no trust in anyone do you? you literally think all people are suspicious, jealous brats. You have to learn to live among the grown ups, ss. you're not in high school.
It really boggles my mind---the attitude you have that you literally know everything about everything. you can read everyone's minds, you know everyone's motives...it's honestly just shocking. Do you have any friends in real life?
You are a total misogynist. Women are not trying to manipulate men in all these crazy ways. I think you have a serious psychological problem! It's like you're living in an alternate reality...0 -

no, you are wrong. every woman does exactly what i said without fail. it sucks i know. deal with it. im sorry you're angry about being a woman. i would be too.0 -

Plenty of them do. The majority of the ones I know, whether friends or just acquaintances do. Life doesn't end with marriage.0 -

for the record, that's a misstatement of what i think. both men and women try to manipulate each other within relationships to get what they want. it's not only women doing this. i hate everyone equally, not just women. give me some credit0 -

bullshit. i can sustain this pace indefinitely! that was a joke anyway, since gtd seems incapable of learning that she shouldn't take me seriously.0
