I don't text (I don't even have a cell phone, but if I did, I still wouldn't text, unless it was cheaper than calling, haha).0

Usually its for little information, so you don't have to make chit chat, but get a question answered or information out. It's like email. I will arrange get togethers, send jokes, or communicate with people at times when I can't be on the phone..
I agree. I like talking on the phone but, I hate small talk. Texts are also wonderful for just saying "I'm thinking about you". No need to call and interrupt. Everything has its place and of course everything can be abused..bugs in the way...I feel about you

How does anyone NOT text these days?
It's a lot cheaper than a call for a start, and a lot easier to do when busy."I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0 -

its actually an awful deal your using. I recently got a 3 contract. they gave me the smartest phone i've ever owned and for £20 or so i get unlimted texts and so many minutes phone calls.
my wife is on Orange and she pays £15 per month, got a new Samsung U800 phone that does everything and for that £15 a month its unlimited texts and 100 minutes call time.oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

a call is the same price as a text? well it is on my network. 12p per minute or 12p per text is the charge.oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

Also, I fear my calls are 20p per minute to my 12p per text."I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"0 -
Jeremy1012 wrote:Aye but it normally takes me more than 1 minute to say in speech what I can in a single text, what with the lure of digression and random small-talk. I can't afford to spend precious money on mere humans.
