In my experience, the people who say they don't like texting are the ones who either don't know how or are just REALLY REALLY slow. ;)

If my parents can text then any person with fingers can text!!! I almost feel off the chair when I first got a text from one of them!

My husband doesn't text, but he'll read a text from me on the rare occasion I send him one.
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.

I just hate it, it takes too long and I would rather just make a quick call. I'm great at everything, so I know how to text, just not interested in it! ;)

I took it off my phone because my husband & I don't EVER use it. I see people all the time texting while driving, walking, eating, laying in bed, working out, wtf? Doesn't anyone call people anymore? :o

I text more than talk. I don't like to talk on the phone and texting to me is similar to the same thing as leaving someone a voice mail that is like just dropping of your message and then leaving it for them to get to and respond to when they get back to it.

I also like to text my kids so we can talk while they are in school if I want to ask them something.

I do think it is strange though when I see a couple in their 30's or older (usually they are in their thirties though), that are texting. I can't help but wonder who they are texting while they are with their husbands/wives. It's weird to me.

My preference would be not to text. Besides the costs that can add up if you do it too much (Yes I know you can get unlimited), I'd rather speak to a live person and plus I don't want to be one of those people that's always texting. I find it rather rude when someone does that in your presence.

i hated texting. now thats how i would rather communicate, cause i hate being on the phone even more.

everyone knows to text me if the need to tell me something important because 90% of the time i wont pick up the phone when it rings. thats what VM is for. that way i can get the the info and i dont have to talk to poeple.

if people would actually learn to call, discuss what needs to be discussed, and skip the bullshit chit chat b4 and after the main reason for the call, i would be more inclined to pick up the phone.

    thats just me though.
    i'm a stand-offish prick.

i dont get all these "it costs too much" posts.

i pay 5 bucks a month for unlimited text for both my phone and my GF's

that 2.50 a month per phone.

who do you guys have your cell's through?
    Peace, Love.

my service is through sprint and the reason the cost was so high is because my phone plan was 20 cents a text, not a flat rate for unlimited texting. all those 20 cent texts add up.

guess i could have changed my plan to lower the cost, but looking at the situation now i'm much happier with not texting anymore. it saves a lot of time and when i do talk on the phone it's better because you can talk everything out with the person instead of wasting time, energy and money to type out messages one at a time.

a 2-5 minute phone call is much more cheap and efficient than an hour of back-and-forth texting to get the same amount of information.

I text. Means I know I'm not going to be disturbing someone while they're at work, eating dinner etc and they can reply in their own time.

Noticed a few people saying it costs for them to recieve texts ... it's not like that in the UK. Think I would text and call less if I knew the other person was having to pay to receive the calls/texts. Have a few friends that I know have to pay to recieve texts in their country so would never just send chatty texts like I would to people in the UK.

I've never sent a text message. I didn't know I had it until I started getting spam, and was charged for the messages. I had them turn it off.
