well i don't think i am that....but sure, i can be different in PMs. actually, not truly 'different'...but can truly say/be *me*, fully. i absolutely respect the rules of the board/forum, and thus try and behave appropriately out on the board. i am also a very private person, and also respect the privacy of others. some things, a lot of things, should not be out on the board, a public forum...and much should be left/discussed in PMs. so i respect that.

if i have a difference of opinion with someone and feel the need/desire to take it further, i take it to PMs. sometimes you just need to argue more, say more...and sure, tell someone to fuck off. also, i do not like to embarass people on the board, so if i think it might be too personal or whatever, again...to PMs. so yes...i DO consider myself a very open-minded person, and i do try and be kind.....but beyond that, no one can always be kind, and i like to be honest in discussion. sometimes that necessitates private convo off the board.

most of the time though, PMs are simply FUN banter inappropriate for the board. kinda like a public/private self. as much as i am *me* publicly, i don't share my 'whole self' with everyone. however, basically, what you see here is overall who i am elsewhere. i just can't be bothered with falsehoods and board personas.

Exactly!!! I expected awesomeness from you in person and you far exceeded it! I have to dig up my fave pic of us - we're hugging and you're leaning at an alarming angle with your flag wrapped around you Priceless!

There were others that I expected to have a big personality and were just really shy...and stayed that way which was surprising. On the flip side, I met quite a few that seem shy on here but were louder than hell in person.

Overall I think people are more expressive and forthcoming in PM's, just because of the private nature of them..

That's exactly what I wanted to say, but I didn't get round to it.

I am me on here, but I don't show all of myself to everyone...probably not to anyone. People choose to share different aspects of themselves with other people, and not everyone.

I've only gotten a couple of not-so-nice PMs...a while ago...presumably from people speculating about the details of a situation and making up drama for their own entertainment. I didn't really take it personally since there are only a few people on the board that I would consider friends...and since I've chosen to put certain aspects of my life out there so in some ways it's human nature for people to speculate. I just assumed that they're viewing my situation through their own filter of experiences/insecurities/fears and let them continue to carry that rather than taking it on for them. Overall I've had very positive interactions with people both publicly on the board and in private...and the people I've gotten to know very well I like very much

amen sista... i just dont really care.. i mean if you like me thats cool and i have met some really awesome people on here that i would consider friends till the end.. but if you dont like me for whatever reason.. thats cool. i just think there are some people who live to make their lives miserable.. they just want to see life how they think it should be and feel the need to opress that opinions on others... either that or people just take this board way too seriously hahah.

A lot of that stuff seemingly stems from Person A's inability, or complete lack of attempt, to grasp Person B's perspective. Person A being a jerk doesn't help matters, either.
