I'm sure they aren't happy...but it's their fault too. Teenagers are horny devils... parents need to be realistic about birth control and not think their children aren't having sex. It looks like some of the fathers could be in trouble too. So a bunch of people's lives are ruined.

    I just think it's sad.

    Just throwin this out there...

Do you think this movie had anything to do with it?

(No, I am not saying the movie should be blamed for someone's stupidity)

I really don't think you can blame a movie. I'm not one to blame the media for all of the problems in society. If anyone is to blame it's those girl's parents.

Oh yeah. Worst decision I ever made.

    ;):D

No, I obviously don't regret it. But, I'm not a young teenager that recruited a homeless man in his 20's to impregnate me. So I think it is fair to say that while I hope these young girls will be able to love and care for these children in the way that they deserve to be cared for, there will be plenty of regret to go around.

(I still stand by my words that the first few weeks are hellish at times, even though I was being flippant when I said that. It was hard for me, and I was a married adult sharing the responsibility with a partner I had planned for years to start a family with. I can't imagine the reality check that these kids are going to experience once theses babies are born.)

True, I agree, the whole pact thing is just immature and naive and these girls are in for some hard life lessons. I don't think ALL young parents are bad though. I had my children young, though not because of some stupid pact. Just the circumstances I found myself in. I'm 37 now, my kids are the most remarkable people I know, and I am putting myself through Uni. I just did things backwards. I always knew I wanted to be a young mum, and oddly enough, the thought of having a baby NOW terrifies beyond words! lol

I definitely don't think all young parents are bad. There are plenty of young parents who rise to the occasion and make a wonderful life for themselves and their child/children. I do think that a girl under 16 who chooses to get pregnant is exhibiting some bad judgment, and that does not bode well for her parenting skills in the immediate future, at least. Hopefully they will be able to turn it around, though, for the sake of their children.

Yer right, bad judgement, immaturity. I think it's partly biological. I can remember all of my sisters, 3 of them, going through phases where they desperately wanted a baby when they were young. It seemed to be cyclic, mid teen years, late teen years, early 20's.......... so perhaps from a purely biological point of view, the desire, need, urge whatever, to procreate is normal. Our society doesn't look too kindly on it though, so most teenage girls, if they feel that urge, work their way through it and don't get themselves pregnant.
I just used to get very tired of the judgment and stereotyping when my children were little. I felt I had to work that extra bit harder to prove that being young doesn't automatically make me a lousy mother. And now, training as a Midwife, I am seeing my fair share of young mums and dads come through the pregnancy clinics. For the most part, only a very tiny percentage of them planned it that way. Most just made mistakes, and I think supporting them in their choice will make them better parents, rather than criticizing them. Not saying that you are that way, just society in general.
