games in hand is the 2nd stat i look at after points

and in this situation the flyers have 3 more games where someone could get hurt or banged up
its not so bad to be a few back..more rest later in the season
    thats my take
i post on the board of a band that doesn't exsist anymore .......i need my head examined.......

i don't get the week off in the middle of the season. last year it was 1 game a week for the first month of the season, than 4 games a week during the month of march

so as far as playing a bunch of games late in the season, flyers did that last season. seemed to work out ok.

it can be a good thing, as it will really get their minds into hockey shape heading into the playoffs.

  • I'm watching Flyers-Wings over the Birds game. Hope we can remember how to play defense again.

    I say trade Leighton.

this game reminded of a flyers game i went to at the joe back in the early 2000's. flyers had a lead, than coughed in up late in the third.

they have been brutal in the joe

here is the game i was thinking of

    http://www.flyershistory.com/cgi-bin/bo ... i?20010092

they were up 2-1 with less than a minute to play and lost the game in regulation. that was a rough night

Was at the Irish Pub tonight, and someone thought it would be funny to change the Red Zone Channel to the Flyers game. Look, I get it, I love the Flyers too, but don't....fuck...my...shit..up!!!

I wouldn't of cared...were their any games on worth watching on Red Zone at that point ?

As I said, they switched that shit. I was highly upset. I think I'll get over it though.

  • Looked like they were gonna blow yet another one there. Nice W. Couple lucky goals, but we'll take it. I'd like to see them play a little harder against the bad teams too, but it's a long season; what are you gonna do?

I vote for Boush as #1 goalie. Proven postseason performer. (I just said that in the Phils thread too.)

it's going to be musical chairs in goal for the Flyers. I suspect we will get a heavy dose of Boush and spot starts of Leighton and BOB, until Brian cools off, than the next guy that gets hot will get it for a few weeks.

Maybe they can trade all three for a stud goalie.

it almost has to be the Rangers next year although Luuko disputed that the Flyers have been contacted. Every other major US city team other than LA has been included so far. I would think maybe Rangers at Detroit or possibly even Toronto or Montreal. Can't see them coming to Philly next year at this point. Maybe 2 or 3 years down the line. Not to mention not sure the Eagles would be so agree-able.

It won't be Toronto or Montreal. Canadian teams have their own game - the Heritage Classic in February. Detroit doesn't have an outdoor football stadium or a historic baseball stadium (and they're not playing in Ann Arbor). Same with Minneapolis/St. Paul. (well, I guess now they have an outdoor football stadium  ) NY's stadium is used by 2 teams and availability would be tough.

They already played in Buffalo, Boston, Chicago & Pittsburgh. Only viable places left are Philly, Denver, and, what, Columbus? It's really just process of elimination. Believe me, I'm skeptical of the idea too.

glad to see him go. average at best goalie and blew the stanley cup finals. boucher has really turned into a solid veteran. always a fan of bouch and was annoyed back in the day when ahole clarke got rid of him for checkmanek.

  • Are Flyers fans still on the Bob bandwagon? Seems like he's cooled off a bit lately, and it's a long season for someone who never played that many games.
