Lavy usually wears orange ties, and I guess pulled out a Flyers tie for a game. What's the big deal? He is coach of the Flyers after all.

Was watching the game, saw it, and thought it was cheesy. Like I said, I guess a coach is the only person that can pull off a team tie.

This is hockey we are talking about. It's the forgotten realm of mullets and bad fashion :)

dude, you're a nyr fan right? their coach defines cheese. he always looks like he's about to cry.

laviolette is the man. he can wear whatever he wants

I don't really give a shit about hockey and haven't followed it closely in years. I was a Rangers fan growing up though. I am going to a Flyers-Rangers game in a couple weeks though, should be fun.

I don't know. Just seemed weird. Sports team ties in general are awful and I guess the coach of the team is just about the only acceptable person to wear one.

for the record I agree that it's pretty terrible to wear a team tie. I just love laviolette, so he gets a pass in my book

I can't say that this was a great game. the Pen looked great for most of the game but I have to give credit to Ilya again as he was the first star by far. While Hartnell did get 2 goals I have to say i loved what i saw from Jagr. he was so powerful on the puck and recovered from the big hit.

the thing that pissed me off was the hard on that the announcers on NBC had for Pittsburgh. i actuality heard a so called expert whose name should remain quiet but i will give a clue (was the worst gm in history, for a certain team in the island) say that Malkin should be just praised for even thinking of a move. Like how fucked up is that.

NBC has always gobbled Crosby and the Pens knobs. It wont change. They just try to shove Crosby Crosby Crosby down everyones throats, even when he's not the best player on the ice.
The NHL just doesnt try hard at all to market anyone more than him. It's sad. The Flyers could be ahead 5-0 in a game and they would still talk about Crosby and how awesome the Pens are. Rah Rah.

That puts him back in the lineup sometime in May, requiring them to still be playing hockey at that point. 2nd round.

they had a few good chances. didn't jagr hit a bar? max skated into a the goalie with the puck and all those power play's that they did zero on.

Rinaldo tho...that guy can not hit the broad side of a barn. he's a good hitter, decent puck handler, decent enough hands..until it comes time to shoot.

A few good chances here and there but Rinaldo had pretty much an open net

Briere just can't catch a break puck is not settling down for him

Really liking Grossmann and his shot blocking

Grossman has really settled in after looking goofy those first couple of games and with mezaros out for sometime, those two trades are turning out to be very timely.

last night wasn't a big deal. florida has been hot, flyers still played well

secure the playoff ticket and see what happens.

Interesting article about the east playoff race

    http://nhl-red-light.si.com/2012/03/21/ ... &eref=sihp

I still think Philly finishes 5 in the standing while having the 3rd most points in the east. NHL has to change that rule.

I like that we have more home games than everyone else but the big test will be the 2 road games in pitts. if we win those 2 i think we can be first which would be ok but am concerned about playing Buffalo the way Miller is playing.

all you have to do in teh nhl is make the playoffs...from there, anything can happen. i don't care about seeding. sure #1 would be nice, but we also know number 7 can go the finals

i agree 100% percent with this and considering our road record this year i think we play with any team.

have we heard any news on the JVR injury. i know he was supposed to be out from 4-6 weeks. have they updated on him?
