    Which would you rather have?

    45runs 15hr 44rbi 2sb .403avg

    or

    41runs 16hr 42rbi 2sb .347avg

    or

You forget about the K's if you are talking fantasy. Ryan Howard might K 200 times this year. That is just not acceptable. But yeah for a team hes right back producing for the Phils.

Ryan Howard with 4 K's last night just cracked the century mark and is on pace for 225 this year.

In 3 and a half seasons he already has ten 0/4 with 4 k games. Only Thome and Tony Clark who have played forever have more as active players - courtesy of Jayson Stark's blog.

I think you're a little overboard - he's not Philly's best hitter. I mean OPS wise he's behind Burrell and Utley and is just 14% better than the rest of the league.

And as for power hitters always striking out a lot. Ortiz has never struck out more than 120 times in a season.

That said Howard is a nice player. But he is turning into an all or none slugger and needs to fix the holes in his plate coverage to become as you say Philly's best hitter. ;)

Well I could see why this thread was created. Howard twice swung at 1-0 pitches for RBI groundouts and had five groundouts. The last one came after Utley fought off an 0-2 count for a two-run single in the ninth.

Exactly. They're throwing him absolute shit. Granted he needs to stop getting on top of the ball and chasing, but you know what you get with Ryan.
