The 2008 Dallas Cowboys road to the Super Bowl....

no matter how much this loss burns and frustrates me, I'd rather lose now instead of having the media hype up every game. this loss better put this team down to Earth and get their heads straight. fucking pathetic out there today. PATHETIC. Felix Jones, WHEN YOU'RE ON KICKOFF RETURN, GET THE BALL AND RUN. DON'T DANCE OR JOG OR ANY OF THAT BULLSHIT, JUST RUN. sorry that's really been bugging me. everything today bothered me. this team looked more disorganized than high school teams. I hate the defensive scheme. the Cowboys are putting many men on the line but none over the middle. 6 men on the line, and one linebacker behind them, pretty easy to run through. just gotta get past a couple men and then you're in the secondary.
and the Cowboys DB's are good, but not good enough for the coverage scheme they're employing now. it's painfully conservative. ZERO interceptions through 4 games.
I'm just gonna stop now.6/11/08 WPB

I DVRed this game and chose not to listen to it on the radio or keep checking the TV at work today... and everything apparently went to shit, WTF?bombs, dropping down, please forgive our hometown0 -
Flagg wrote:OK, I have had enough of Brian Stewart now. He needs to go. This is the most uninspired, ineffective group of defensive players. No interceptions all season. Can't come up with the big stop when they have to. You can say they did against Philly, but really they stopped themselves with that fumble. Piss poor tackling all game.
Romo was off all day. He played like he was under pressure when he wasn't. Hurrying throws and forcing balls into coverage.
You are telling me that these receivers can't get separation when the Redskins were without Springs and Smoot at the same time in the 2nd half?! WTF?
The 12 men on the field call that extended the Redskins scoring drive was complete and total BS. There were no way 12 men were on the field. Go back and look at the tape.
Terrence Newman - that was the worst game I have ever seen him play. Burned by Santana Moss. Just torched. Falling down, busting coverage, etc. Wow he has terrible!!
Marion Barber - 142 yards rushing last week. This week - 8 carries! They completely abandonded the running game way too early.
Garrett looked lost on his play calling. The Redskins had him befuddled from the get-go.
Just an off game all the way around. I know they weren't going to go 16-0, but damn, that one sucked. I guess one way to look at the positive is that Washington played their A game and Dallas played their worst and Washington still only won by two.

can we stop calling the 08 Cowboys the best team ever now?0

I don't know who was saying that. They aren't near the 07 NE team, but they should have a superbowl capable team this year. Emphasis on the word SHOULD.bombs, dropping down, please forgive our hometown0 -

buddy, not so sure you wanna see it. it WILL make you sick. Romo was off today. VERY off. he had poor timing with his receivers, although T.O. was having a tough time get open cause Shawn Springs was all over him. that would've been easy to fix if he was lined up in the slot or behind another receiver, but noooo Jason Garrett didn't care for any of that. you're gonna hate all the delayed handoffs to Marion Barber, which did nothing except give the 'Skins linemen more time to penetrate and take away the natural aggressiveness of Barber. it was hard for him to get going. Witten, like always, was great. but really, the Defense was just, I don't know how to say it. I won't even try.6/11/08 WPB

Another typical Dallas/Redskins game. What happened to getting Felix involved in the passing game?? Or hell, a touch would have been nice. They can't abandon the run like they did today.
Well, I don't think any of us thought they were going to go 16-0, it's a loss but heck, bounce back next week and take it out on the Bengals next week.0 -

I predicted a Cowboys blowout but I should have known better. The Redskins have won something like 5 out of their last 7 against Dallas or something stupid like that. Just don't match up well against them for whatever reason.DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13

Exactly....our d-backs don't match up with Santana Moss......Newman looked like the mailman from Seinfeld.
Oh well....they'll get back on track next week. Although if they don't get the d-backs playing better, that Arizona game is gonna be tough.
And reversedarwinism.....umm, I wouldn't bother. Delete it.0 -

You can tell everyone in Philly this game today is why Cowboys fans hate the Redskins so much and sort of disregard the Eagles. I can't stand them. The only team in the division where you can truly throw out the records and the "who's better on paper" BS and all of that.DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13

I love it, my cousins b/f, an Iggles fan.....was all talk before the Dallas/Eagles game....then we haven't heard from him, until when?? Yep, he was beatin his chest calling us right after the game. Typical.....wonder how he's feelin right about now.
I agree though, this game no matter what the record, it's always a tough game. Damn 'Skins....my boss is a 'Skins fan so I get to listen to him tomorrow.0 -

yea I don't like how ESPN falls in love with certain teams either. USC (well seems like everyone considers them an amazing team when they never prove ANYTHING), Boston Red Sox, Dallas Cowboys (this year).6/11/08 WPB

Redskins/Cowboys have one of the greatest rivalries in pro sports. Its always a pain in the ass to play you guys, but these matchups are often one of the most interesting games to watch all season.
I am a die hard Redskins fan, go skins!!0 -

Oh, correction to my rant above. Actully it appears there were 12 men on the field after that timeout. Pay Watkins admitted being the 12th guy. It just didn't appear that way when Fox was counting the players.
But that somehow makes it worse. How do you have 12 men on the field after a timeout when you just made a critical 3rd down stop?DAL-7/5/98,10/17/00,6/9/03,11/15/13

The road to the superbowl goes through New York. I have said, and will continue to say, the Giants are hands down the best team in the NFL. Go ahead an laugh. Ill laugh last.
I said this a year ago, and it still holds true. Owens is the only thing preventing this team from winning the Superbowl. Why do you think Parcells left? One of the greatest coaches in history, who built this team you are watching today and had them on the fringe of the superbowl, quit because of this guy. Garcia, McNabb, and soon Romo will know his true colors. me, me, me.
Whats with the TD celebration win 1:30 to go and still needing an onside kick? ha ha ha! Do these guys have any idea whats going on?
Cowgirls are pretenders.All that's sacred, comes from youth....dedications, naive and true.0 -
