man, i read thru this thread and........ yikes! some of you work WAAAAYYYYYYY too much! no matter how much i could LOVE a job, and i have loved a couple.....i would never want to work THAT much. my life outside work is way more important to me, my personal time, no matter what....or the paycheck. eh well. i guess while i will never be *rich* monetarily, without winning lotto anyway ;)....i certainly FEEL rich enough that my lifestyle mostly fits my income and then some......and i am happy with it all. :)
I did all those hours when I lived in London and didn't know anyone and didn't really have enough money to do anything in spare time. I really really had so much fun though... my workmates were fantastic and we'd be dancing behind the bar, slagging the customers, making people happy by giving them drink :) . It was the best job I ever had by far and it more than made up for anything I could have been doing in my spare time. If I had a job like that now, I'd be doing double/triple hours again. It's not the money that would ever encourage me to do something like that, it was the fun. It was like being on the piss all day every day... except without being drunk :D

I used to work full time in a shop and part time on a bar, with overtime at the shop, I tended to average about 80 hours a week, at the same time I was quite the party man and took a lot of drugs back then, clubbing, concerts, partys. Not a lot of sleep basically hehe.:)

Then a little more recently I worked as a shop fitter and merchandiser on contract, the shifts were 12 hours long and some of the jobs were 16 shifts in a row, I could then have one day off go to another job and so on and so forth.
Can not be arsed with life no more.

I found myself working on an oil rig one summer. seven days on, seven days off, twelve hours a day… So that was 84 hours a week. What a sucky job that was but holy shit those guys knew how to party on those seven days off.

I’ve also done the two job thing…four ten hour shifts at Jet West, then three eight hour shifts at Alpine Meadows. Guess that comes out to 64 hours a week, although those were cushy fun jobs that were more like just hanging out with friends..

I also worked the Reno Air Races for six consecutive years. I would work my four tens during the week at Jet West, then 12 or more hours each day through the race weekend when everybody and their dog would fly into Reno…guess that comes out to 80ish a week.

These days I’m a 40 a week person in Big Pharma…until I get my own things going anyways.

    Work Blows… :waves2ghost:
