My ex-husband and I took turns putting each other through school. When we were first married I worked 3 jobs...it was about 75-80 hours a week without a day off. Once we got our degrees it all paid off

i did 70 hour weeks for 3 months few years ago. really respect anyone who can pull that off over a prolonged period of time. you really need to like your job or have a serious coke habit to get through that

80....regularly for 2 months.... surgery rotation
  • I was working on a leaky oil rig (later forced by the coast guard back to port for repairs). My job was to chisel off rust in the ballast tanks in the bowels of the rig in mid july (well over 100 degrees in there). WE worked 18 hour shifts 2 days followed by 1 day at 12 hours (to rest!) for 2 weeks. After a few days we just slept in shifts and one guy would lookout for the boss. his fatass was to big to go down below anyway.

    that job sucked.

i'm gonna guess about 60. i just know that last october, the height of our busy season...i worked 120 hours, 3 weeks worth of hours, within a 2 week period. i think more than likely MORE of it was in week 2 than in week 1...but whatever. thank bejeebus it only lasted 2 weeks. i am not designed to work that much. :p

last week I worked from 6am-10 pm with only one "break" every day, except for Tuesday, when i worked from 5am -11:30 pm and this includes both Saturday and Sunday.

90 hours 30 minutes...and this week I was working from 7 am - 10:30 pm Monday and Tuesday...Wednesday and Today I worked from 8 and I get to finally leave at 6!!!

tomorrow I should work even less...and then I get a read weekend...

so, yeah that is why when your job is slightly seasonal...it slightly sucks.

I work 60 hours a week regularly, been doing so for the passed 5 years.

My old job before this one I was a doorman, work double shifts all week and oneday got screwed and had to work a triple. Though when I had to work the graveyard shifts I did get to sleep for a couple hours - 4 hours depending on the night. Technically I was there for 88 hours though ! :D

5am-8pm, six days a week, shovelling shit for my dad's building firm a few years back. I even did it on acid, a couple of times. Hahaha, what a mad bastard I was.

My last 6 weeks have been between 84-92 hours per week. Good thing that I love what I do and get paid OT or those would have been some long ass weeks.

i once worked so many hours in one week, hell, i'll let someone else do the math.

i worked on the railroad in central kansas and i worked an 'extra board' which meant that i worked 8 on and 8 off for about two months during the summer.

i had one paycheck, and remember this was in the 70's, which was over 1800 dollars take home!! and this was for 1/2 month!!! (they paid on the 15th and the last day of the month)

but i was one rich mother fucker and paid my way through college with ease. i even had money left over to treat them rich bitches at KU to some Johnnie Walker Black!!!

    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

110-120 hrs a week, maybe a little more.
16 hrs+ every day for months and sometimes it seemed like years at a time.
    trucks are brutal.

if i didn't cash a check that had a minimum of 80 hrs a week
on it, i was pissed off about it.

this is one reason i am going back to school.
trucks and i been 'round a bit and i am sick of them for awhile.
another reason why i can't write well when working up the ass hours.

when I lived in London I did 90-100 hours a week for months. I had three jobs and loved two of them... gave up the third one eventually and took on more hours in the other two. Worked in two pubs and it was fucking fantastic :) . I'd often work from 10am until about 4am cos it was just so much fun. I really wanna enjoy a job like that again. Nobody made me work those hours... I used to beg... oh and also cos I got time in lieu for overtime and I knew when I'd be leaving to come home... so I worked up a nice big lump sum :)

When I was younger..... ha ha.... I used to work 12 hour days 12 out of 14 days 3 or 4 months out of the year. Sometimes I used to work O/T on my days off. I had to sign waivers because of state labor laws. Good money, hard life.

depends if we are using the Julian calendar or the Gregorian calendar?

if its the latter then 50-60 hours.. if its the former... 0.12 kwangjocks or whatever they used

During tax season back in the 70's before automatic extensions I'd work a minimum 8-8 7 days a week from January through April, so 84+. :)

You are putting in some good hours.
When I worked in Fort Mac a few summers ago doing survey work, my shift was 20 days on and 7 days off, we averaged anywhere from at least 10 to 13.5 hours a day. I did this for six months straight.

Definitely over 80, not sure exactly.

In academic situations I've "worked" a lot more than that though. Last spring I was getting about 4 hours of sleep a night for about 8-12 weeks and was doing absolutely nothing except work.
