honestly, I come here every so often to see what's going on in the world of PJ. Yes I come more often and actually post when it's close to tour. Does that make me a "bad fan"? You can see I've been a member of the pit since the very first. I was actually a member of the board before this one. I just don't like to post, I prefer to read.

That sucks because I love philosophical and political talk. it is just so hard to find people to talk to that can respect me and my opinion, even if they don't agree. Good observation! But many people don't start posting or visiting until tour time because otherwise we'd be here reading about useless ramblings on what picture Eddie's sexiest in (no offense to lovers of Eddie pix). I just love the excitement of tour time and it helps me ease the anxiety by being involved in the forum. But just cause you brought it to my attention......

There's some good debates to be had over there. Some people are respectful and will have a nice, good debate with good info and arguments. Others...are...well...hell. You have the internet. You know there's a good population of douchebags fucking everywhere.

I fuckin love Maynard too, the only thing is. I would still be just as crazy about Tool if they didn't have Maynard. He doesn't make TOOL for me. He really is just part of Tool, for me.

I know this might have something to do with the way Tool sets the band up as equals--like Maynard standing in the back for shows or them lowering or distorting the vocals so it doesnt stand out as much. I can get lost in TOOL's musicality, I cant in Pearl Jam.

With Pearl Jam, I cant really say I would feel the same about them if they didn't have Eddie. I really do hate admitting that but it is a PERSONAL truth.

At a Tool show it is about Me and the Music
At Pearl Jam its a interpersonal relationship between the audience and the guys, well mostly Eddie.

Maybe it's because some people get on the boards to actually seek info or revel in the excitement of an upcoming tour (and there's nothing wrong with that!)----not just daily musings by the same-ol, same-ol. I have nothing against you if you are part of "that group", but it bugs when there are comments so elitist as some of the ones in this post. Last I checked this site was for all fans, not just a few who think they own the place. Don't be a snob! PJ wouldn't be proud of you.

I wouldn't be able to see Tool without maynard or Pearl Jam without Eddie. They've just been together so long and have created so much that without either one of those guys, it just wouldn't be the same. They each would be able to go off and create something amazing with new people (APC for instance). ANd if someone tried to step in and replace either one...i think it would feel like a whole different band.

I would never want anyone to replace Maynard, cause you are right that wouldn't work--at all. I am saying if he just left, or they did an instrumental album.

Oh and you need to fix the never seen Tool thing...They are FUCKIN AWESOME LIVE. It is a completely different experience then PJ but amazing!
