    oh, I don't think of its origin when I use it or when I hear it... it's just one of the most venomous SOUNDING words and I cringe when I hear it... and that's NOT considering its 'meaning' :eek:

    I agree Helen. 100%. There are swear words that just are cussing words, like damn or hell or shit,etc. Then there are those words that really say it all like f--k, but the lowest thing you can call someone in my opinion is a c--t. That is what the word is for right? Effect?

    Exactly... like I've said, sometimes there are people just soooooooo vile that it's the only word you can use to describe them... and it can be therapeutic :)

    Meh, words are words and just that. I used to be sensitive about these things but then I realized that just because someone calls someone a certain word, that doesn't mean it's valid. It's just a word....which is empty and can only mean what I choose to let it mean for me. The only way these words could be valid was if there was some truth to the word describing you...and only you can change that.
    If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

    It used to be something I'd rather not hear that often, but then this strange Aussie-Irish guy started throwing it around as though it meant something good. So now on those rare occassions someone calls me a C, I say jee thanks champion! :)

    Yep, both my parents (aged 81 and 73) have broad Irish accents, and refer to me as "The Cunt", as a term of endearment. :D
