It's not because one is telling another to "Fuck off" that one cannot remain polite.

I was...but seldom do I come across people who have decency or common courtesy. I FEEL like telling people to fuck off a lot but I rarely do it.

Exactly. Sometimes you think, if people are going to be rude to me, talk to them the same way back. Although I find that hard to do most of the time. I worry I may have got that person wrong and I may hurt there feelings.

So I guess the answer to Fins' question is no. Besides, I grew up on a council estate and used to eat my dinner out of a trough. ;)

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Plus you have to choose your battles. I find if you are really nice to a rude person it catches them off guard and they chill.

True. And the part about giving people the benefit of the doubt is something I've always thought myself. Although I do have a line, I forget very quickly if someone's offended me. :D

lol..well there are exceptions. There are just some people who are nasty and are oblivious to their own nastiness and I steer clear of them :p or give them a dose of their own nastiness. But I am not too nice when Im offended. That's the end of the line for me. :D

I swear the appropriate amount for a person born to glaswegian parents who also happens to be very fond of words and their potential for creative usage.

So that would be a fucking shiteload.

I'm also extremely polite and considerate when I need to be :) so yes Fins.

I called the sweetest girl a cunt yesterday, jokingly, as I do to all my friends. Problem is, I barely know this one forgot that because I was drunk and she took it at face value. I had to apologise profusely and explain that I meant it in a friendly way :D

I don't know that you could convince an American girl that the word cunt can be used in a friendly way... They object to that term to some degree over here.

It's pretty normal in my circle of friends :D I would never use it to describe a girl if I WAS being offensive because of the actual meaning. I might to a guy if I was pissed off. As far as my usage goes, I think blowing the use of just a word out of proportion is silly if the intention was not to offend. I'd never be offended by someone swearing at me if they weren't serious.

I was brought up to think I should take everyones feelings into account when doing anything. I've decided that's ridiculous, only the very distinguished get a shred of thought from me.
