Also, I used to hate it too. I was corrupted... by female friends of all people
Oh yeah..I do think it's more of a taboo here...people from other countries don't seem bothered by it. But it's nice to know that you don't call women that.

Sure ya can, some women just have no sense of humor..:pAnd so the lion fell in love with the lamb...,"

What if you add face to the end of that word? Would it make it a little more light-hearted so it'd be an acceptable, yet still rude joke to you? Rather than offensive?
Or the second you hear the first four letters sounded together the fist is already half way to the jaw?0 -

Or the second you hear the first four letters sounded together the fist is already half way to the jaw?Along with any number of words affixed to the end. -bag, -nose, -brick. Anything to make it sound comical rather than unpleasant.

Well you know...I really should have explained better. If someone were to tell a joke and the word happened to be in the joke..alright..not so bad. Maybe poor taste but Im talking more about people pulling it out in an argument. Im just thinking of a specific situation where someone did that....I remember thinking..ick...These cuts are leaving creases. Gotcha! I'd just rather be safe and never pull it out in any situation then.Thank goodness for the thesaurus!

Just to make it clear to everyone...being brought up to have common decency, respect, civility and manners does not just mean you don't or shouldn't tell people to fuck off.
It is being loyal, kind and truthful.
Not calling people out on a message board or talking about them on a different message board or being their dumb friend on facebook and then being a jerk to or about them here.
Remember, not defending a friend is not being respectful of said friend.
Just thought I would mention, in case people were wondering.Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away0 -
I don't remember for the life of me, starting this thread.0

I love when you do that!
And to answer the thread topic, sure my Dad drummed into us "stop that fucking swearing"from when we were only little tackers, but I think there are times when it's highly appropriate to tell someone to fuck off. It can mean so many things anyway.
Like fuck off and don't come back.
Fuck off, you must be joking
Fuck off, really?
Fuck off, I love you
Fuck off, I hate you
I guess it's all about context.NOPE!!!
*~You're IT Bert!~*
Hold on to the thread

I fucking hate hate HATE the word cunt... and I don't like it used in an endearing manner... cos there are some people who are so vile that there is just no other word to call them... I think there are maybe two people I've called this in my lifetime cos if you say it with the right amount of venom, it cuts... and it's mildly therapeutic. Don't take this away. What would we call those people then? The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
Chicago 07? And love
What a different life
Had I not found this love with you0 -
In my head, the word doesn't even signify anything female or anatomical, and shouldn't be used in reference to a woman, lest it be perceived as reducing the woman to the said, er, portion. For me, the word is just a great noise, best pronounced in a cockney accent as "kyaaaaaant". I use the word exclusively to males, either as a term of endearment to my dad or brother, or as a term of derision to anyone else. The mental image I have when I think of the term is not any nether part of anyone's body, but rather, a close-up of Piers Morgan's face.0
