I disagree, plenty of girls have developed a woman's body by the age of 14, I would say the give away would be how old they look facially, but again, some girls when they have make up on can look a lot older. One of my sister's friends is 22 and frequently gets mistaken for being a school girl because she's petite and looks so young in the face. I also had a mate at school who had a full grown beard at the age of 14 and he had no trouble getting served for alcohol in the supermarket.

There's no way he'd have been able to turn her head and appeal to her, develop a rapport with her and manage to get his end in had they been in a bar. The internet is the tool he used in order to establish a connection with her. How come nobody else on the site that she posted on took up her offer? Could it be that they aren't predators? Could it be that they could tell fairly quickly that they were dealing with a child?

I can know that he is guilty and most likely did know without having to see the girl. I only have to read the article, read how the tale unfolds, see what he was charged with, that he was found guilty, sent to prison and is now having charges thrown out on technicalities because the more he fucks around with his lawyer the less time he'll get. Preferably the law should be tightened up to deal with this... but that creates loop holes and guys then coming forward saying they'd no reason to be suspicious it's a tough one! But we had a BIG problem earlier this year where several convicted rapists were let go as they were not allowed to use the defense that they didn't know the girls age... one of them raped a 13 year old girl, got her pregnant and then created national uproar where she was refused the right to travel to england for an abortion. They've since had to change the law to close that loophole.

I know she isn't of consensual age, like I said, the guy committed a crime, unintentionally. You can't be an accidental rapist by definition. If you know a girl is 14 and she consents, it's rape. As a parent I'm sure you are able to account for every action and conversation that your 14 year old child is involved in, right? And I'm sure as a 14 year old you never did anything wrong? Never made mistakes? Never got into ANY situation that could have completely ruined your life? I think not. The only difference between you and this girl is that she unfortunately played into the hands of a predator. And he is a predator because let's face it what are the odds that any well adjusted, mature 19 year old woman would play up to the creepy looking fuck AND agree to meet and have sex with him? You're not going to tell me that he would be unaware of this?
The fact they met on the internet has a lot to do with it. There's no way he'd have been able to turn her head and appeal to her, develop a rapport with her and manage to get his end in had they been in a bar. The internet is the tool he used in order to establish a connection with her. How come nobody else on the site that she posted on took up her offer? Could it be that they aren't predators? Could it be that they could tell fairly quickly that they were dealing with a child?
If two people meet in a bar, have sex and it turns out one is under age then the circumstances are different. AND the charges, IF any were laid, would have been different.

I find it offensive that a child involved in such a case can have their photo published in a news article and I find it even more offensive that people are now circulating it.

You don't know that for sure. Like I said in my previous post, plenty of 14 year olds both male and female can look much older than they are. And if he believed she was a consenting adult, no matter how fucked up the nature of what they did, if she was 19 there would have been nothing illegal and we would have just put them both down as being a pair of perverts. I think if she obviously looked no older than 14 then you would definitely have a point and I would agree with pretty much everything you have said. But unless we see what she looks like, we have no way of knowing.

Yes, I do get out quite a lot...and I'm also female and can easily pick out when a girl is underage. I think that girl in the photo looks too young for a sick fuck of a 50 year old to consider having sex with.....
My niece is 14 -- I've been to her school and seen her whole grade at assembly....some have boobs, some have curves....but they ALL look underage still in my opinion.

I can know that he is guilty and most likely did know without having to see the girl. I only have to read the article, read how the tale unfolds, see what he was charged with, that he was found guilty, sent to prison and is now having charges thrown out on technicalities because the more he fucks around with his lawyer the less time he'll get. We're not talking about a guy that made an innocent mistake here otherwise the charges would reflect that AND he'd not have been found guilty AND an honourable bloke that made a legimate mistake, I doubt very much would be doing what he's doing to try to get leniency and a shorter sentence.
So no, I don't need to see the girl to judge his actions, I only need to see what it is that he is doing now and WHY the case has been thrown out.
What I don't get is why it is that ordinary, smart, honourable blokes freak out when something like this hits the headlines and can't see the woods for the trees and want to defend these arseholes and degenerate the victim.
This is not something that could or would happen to most of the guys I know REGARDLESS of if they frequented said sites BECAUSE they're not predators.

I said she probably was looking for attention, I don't think what happened is something that she could have planned or been looking for, there's no way she would have understood the ramifications of her actions AND I'm more than sure that she will suffer untold psychological damage, both from the incident itself AND the court case.
Yeah, that's because predators had to work in different ways, so the stories were different but the actions the same.
And this kind of thing happened before the internet but because of the attitudes of people, not unlike some I've read in this thread, most girls aren't willing to press charges. If this wasn't a problem why have whole departments been set up by police world wide to try to combat it?

AND if you were in your late 40s and she said she was only 19 would you not question what on EARTH she found appealing about you? There is no way you can tell me that that man is a magnet for 19 year old girls, I find it very hard to believe looking at him, that he would be a magnet for ANY girl. As a 49year old man one would expect that he'd been around the block a few times, knew how women work.
