My last book was "Utopia" by Thomas More.

I think there is a copy of that book in the house somewhere. Was it any good?

The link doesn't work, you have to create an account.

I use http://www.goodreads.com/ as the same thing.

    It's a 100% comunist book! hahahah
Me, myself, couldn't immagine me living in that society - wearing same clothes, eating the same meals for everyone etc, etc, etc.
But it's interesting. It has few pages, quick reading.

Now I started One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Marquez.
A couple of friend has alrady told me that it's their TOP1 book in their life. Let's see how it goes...

I've read all his stuff. Great author. He lived near and taught at the local high school and writes about the fictional Town "Three Rivers" which is near me, so its cool to read about locations that I am familiar with in a fictional sense. Go read about the Norwich State Hospital (now long closed)... that is the mental hospital where his brother stayed in the book I Know this Much is True. Buildings are still standing there... there are some pretty creepy pictures and stuff you can find online that people have taken (by breaking into the abandoned buildings). It'll give you a whole different feeling on that book if you knew what went on in that place while it was in operation.

"The Gathering" by Anne Enright. I've been reading tons of Irish books this semester. Makes sense since I'm taking an Irish women authors class.

I'm in the middle of Waging Heavy Peace. It started off strong but now I'm 323 pages in and it's starting to drag a bit... :? I hope it picks up a bit tomorrow. I don't like the feeling that I'm only reading on because I have the goal of finishing the book.

The last book I read (Winter of the World, Ken Follet) lead me through WWII from the perspective of families in Russia, England, Germany & USA....I was so intrigued by the historical fiction that I picked up a non-fiction account of an American family's experience in Berlin as Hitler rose to power. Fascinating stuff so far.

That is a great one. Unbelievable cast of characters. Incredible to think how that family had a front row seat to Hitler's rise to power.

Yeah looking forward to the rest of it....I have watched hours and hours of the BBC Documentary The World At War that I bought a few years ago (highly recommended) but going through it in a personal manner as told by Follet and now this non-fiction account is more thought provoking vs. awesome in the true sense of the word.

Started the book by Colin Meloy (of The Decemberists). Only read the first few chapters but it's pretty decent. This book is kinda long though.

Finished this one about a month ago, very good i thought. Picked up the follow-up called "Under Wildwood". Just read the first chapter last night.
