One of the things I don't understand is how Wes Welker was never that sweet before last year. The teams he was on must have underestimated the heck out of him.
All that you need to know how valuable/unique Wes Welker is can be summed up by this sentence on his Wiki article:
"2004
The same season Welker became the second player in NFL history to return a kickoff and a punt, kick an extra point and a field goal, and make a tackle in a game against the Patriots on October 10."
BB probably didn't forget that performance one bit and 3 years later he's in Red, Blue and Silver.
Has anyone heard if Seymour will be back this week?
Oh and Wes Welker was a very good player last year for a very bad Miami Dolphins team. His route to stardom has been slower than most, but he attacks the football and he's a very good returner which makes him great after the catch, especially with a QB who can put it in exactly the right place every time on time.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

i know that the pats are playing the 0-6 dolphins, but this is just flat out ridiculous. 35-7 and it is not even the half yet.
Make that 42-7. Welker just caught a TD pass. These guys are making a mockery out of the AFC East. Buffalo, Miami & the Jets? If the Colts can't beat them in a few weeks nobody will. I just wish we could see them play the 85 Bears, 89 Niners or 92 Cowboys because those are the only teams that I can see beating them right now. They're an alltime great team playing in a parity crippled league. In other words if this team can't go 19-0 then it will never happen.
the pats are just out of their minds on offense right now.
but i'm sure billichik will have something to say about the defensive effort.
I didn't watch the 5th quarter reports. But I know what you mean. Don't get me wrong, love that they're winning....but offense wins games, D wins championships. I find most Indy games boring since their offense has typically put up huge numbers and their d doesn't have to be "great". I saw some missed tackles by the Pats today....and lame ones too. I want hard hitting, punishing D....I'll take wins with fewer points so long as their d is tight.
but it's still f**king awesome they're 7-0.
believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

very very good team...not even close to the greatest team ever...yet. the greatest teams ever can stop the run, the pats, as of now, cannot. still 7-0 makes for a good start.
A donminating performance by the Patriots today withanother tough opponent next week. I noticed people leaving early near the end of the game maybe getting ready for the Red Sox game tonight.
Boston sports is on a roll, damn it even the Bruins are making some noise.

some of the greatest teams; the '85 Bears, '72 Dolphins, '62 Packers, '79 Steelers, they were all good at stopping the run. those are just off the top of my head.
the Pats aren't that bad against the run. i would imagine they will only get better.

hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks
Foxboro in the fall and winter can be pretty nasty. I spent a few bitter December Sundays in the old barn on the metal bleachers...now I like the old living room couch when the weather turns.
52-7, and the Skins had a good defense supposedly. yikes.
You know, I was going to say something along these lines, but totally forgot to look it up ... so suck it everyone.
There's a lot of chatter now that teams should take a 15 yard penalty and smash up Brady if they feel the score's being run up ... I love premeditated whiners. You know, instead of planning out your revenge, maybe these teams should plan on, you know ... winning

But don't you think it's a little risky having Brady out there throwing TDs in the 4th quarter when up by 30 or more?
One day some knucklehead may decide to unload on him.
What's humorous is Steve Young on ESPN acting like the Pats have committed murder by in his mind running up the score. This from the guy who threw his 6th TD pass in the Superbowl against the Chargers in the 4th quarter while his team led 42-18.
Nice article from Sally Jenkins of the Washington Post on the Patriots running up the score....PATS NO PITY-PARTY

From Chris Cooley, a member of the Redskins who got thumped ...
~~~ Cooley not only declined to criticize the Patriots, he was openly admiring. "We've had halftime leads, both times we lost, and it's a lesson that we can learn from those guys," Cooley said. "I think it's good they pile the points on. It teaches their guys to keep playing hard. . . . Right now they're killing everybody. I don't fault them." ~~~
Jesus, I hope people shut up soon.
That would be Irony.
That makes them a hell of a lot stronger in the middle of the defense which is kind of scary.
THx.
let's wait 'til they go through Indy ... let alone win the superbowl ... before we give them this title ...
I'm sure all this "The Patriots will go 16-0" chatter from everyone in the media is getting the Colts fired up ... makes me a tad concerned.
