The longer answer is that the 2008 New England Patriots are one game and one victory from the kind of perfection that no team, including those undefeated Dolphins of 36 seasons ago, has ever experienced. Win Super Bowl XLII -- and they will -- and the Patriots will have no peer, no point of comparison.

its amazing how one team can just shut the entire internet talk tough douche bags out there

It's amazing indeeed, today I half watched the game barely getting excited. I was more interested in getting tickets for a Bruins game against Florida in February.

Beantown is rocking with it's sports teams and 1 more to go for history!

Is it wrong of me to hope for a plane collision for the pats and giants flights to scottsdale? I abhor both teams, and what they are all about...ugh. But good luck to the Pats next week...they are the lesser of two evils. But my choices are either root for a Republican QB or a QB who comes from a school supported by the KKK. I'll chose the former. Good luck to the least classless of two classless organizations.

HOW ON EARTH DOES ANYONE ROOT FOR THIS TEAM?

I live in MA. I am a die hard Giant and Red Sox fan. I know, its fucked up, but the Giants have been around much longer than the patriots its been passed on. Patriot fans are not like red sox fans. patriot fans are fairweather fans who only care about them when they win. i know the type, I am surrounded by them.

there will be a lot of tears shed when they lose, and people will blame it on someone totally undeserving. they're lame.

Lots of generalizations here and I'm surely NOT in that category of Patriot fans you've named. I've been a fan since 1972 and I've been the proudest fan in their darkest moments....in the 70's when they lost on a regular basis Sam "the Bam" Cunningham, Randy Vataha, Steve Grogan, Plunkett and others.

I fact on my truck I still have the old Patriot logo which I still prefer that one to this day, hell it's the original one. So from 72' I became a Bruin's fan, Red Sox, and Celtics fan and the same goes with ALL of Beantown when they are at their worst I love them even more and I proudly will do so with enthusiasm.

So please don't throw us all in the same boat you should take a closer look at yourself, what's inside of you when you're being a Giants fan with it passed on.

Take a good look before passing such a large generalization.

    Jan. 26, 1986 - Super Bowl XX - Chicago 46, New England 10

    • Jan. 12, 1986 - AFC Championship - New England 31, Miami 14

    • Jan. 5, 1986 - AFC Divisional - New England 27, L.A. Raiders 20

    • Dec. 28, 1985 - AFC Wild Card - New England 26, N.Y. Jets 14

The Patriots were called The Road Warriors" that year but ran out of gas against the Bears.

I believe the same will happen to the Giants.

    WTF ??

    http://tsn.ca/nfl/news_story/?ID=227902&hubname=

Foxborough, MA (Sports Network) - New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was photographed on Monday with what appeared to be a walking boot on his right foot.

The photograph, shown on the Boston Globe website, was taken in New York City and credited to INFphoto.com. The paper states that Brady did not directly answer when asked about a potential injury during a radio interview on WEEI in Boston. Though, the quarterback did say he would be ready for the Super Bowl.

Besides the photograph, there is also a video on TMZ.com of Brady seemingly walking with a limp as he and girlfriend Gisele Bundchen head into a New York city apartment.

Brady went 22-of-33 for 209 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions in a 21-12 win over San Diego in the AFC Championship on Sunday. He was sacked two times.

ahhh ... remember in 2001, when he didn't even finish the championship game (Bledsoe came up huge in Pittsburgh) and he had that high ankle sprain? Weren't sure for quite a while who was going to start ... and he was completely fine?

I'm sure he'll gut it out no matter how much it hurts, it's the superbowl ... and he's tough as hell.

nor I ... but he did spend a lot of time on the bench with his head down ... so, perhaps he was dinged ... Chargers did get a few licks on him.

Yeah, plus you cannot rely on a friggin' kicker to win games. I'd never ever pay that much for a kicker. Those close Super Bowl wins were very very uncommon, and I really doubt this next one will be close.
