The NBA title will be going to a Western Conference team, the West is so much better than the East. However Boston should be able to win the East with KG. I barely watched the T'Wolves last year with KG I doubt I'll watch them at all this year, although I'm interested in seeing how Jefferson does.

what are your thoughts on Brandon Wallace?

he played at my alma mater and signed (partially guaranteed contract) with the Celtics....any chance he'll make the team and/or possibly earn some playing time? that trade didn't hurt his chances for making the team imo.

from what i saw of the summer league against portland i really liked

    he's an active kid

    skinny

but... seems like a nice back up 3

and him playing the 5 will help him guard big 3s or maybe even 4s

even though it is summer league

hey... so the celtics are trying to fuck over the fans already... i'm officially disappointed that the celtics are now going to be hard to get tix like the sox and pats

here's my conversation from this morning through email

LOU: hello - are there any $18 full season ticket packages? I don't see them on the website?
CELTICS: Lou, the least expensive in the full is $25 per seat.

LOU: Thanks for the reply. Why does the seating chart show $18 and even $15 ones listed? (See attached file: seating_chart.pdf)
    CELTICS: They are sold out

LOU: Will there be half season and/or 10 game packages?
    CELTICS:We sold out already

LOU: Hmmm .. I've not seen any communication about 10 game packages for the upcoming season. When did those go on sale?
Or are they just forcing you to say that so that people will buy full
season tickets? I understand it's a business but wow.

CELTICS:They haven't gone on sale yet, we most likely will not have them and
they would be in a 12 game format if anything.

First they're sold out. Then they haven't gone on sale. And probably won't.

The truth would of been nice in the first place

sorry to bring this negative shit in here... i'm just annoyed

anyway... big baby for rookie fo the year?? :)

the celts will probably get some veteran help at minimum salary level because all of a sudden boston is a place to go to push for the ring

rondo is gonna shine as the point guard as well

    GP may be coming back...

and you're right... people will WANT to come

too bad it's late in this free agent season

although what's really out there this year

all we need is decent play from the others and solid play from the big 3 part duex

Yeah, he played out of position at South Carolina because of necessity. I thought he was better suited for the 4 spot, but we didn't have anyone else who could play the 5.

I would say he's more ready to play defensively right now. His d has always been better than his offense. From his days at South Carolina, he moves his feet well, has quick hands, blocks shots well, and rebounds well. Adjusting to the 3 will take some time for him, especially on offense. But, he is a hard worker and is always looking to improve his game.

I really hope he makes the roster. It would really help out my 'we need to fire Dave Odom' rants to other USC fans ;) but that's for another time and another thread :)

Ok, it's time this bullshit about the Western Conf. being SO much better!! The previous champ, west, before that east, before that, west, before that, east. Hmmmmm.... that doesn't seem so dominating.

Longtime Celts fan here and it's great to get excited about what used to be the #2 team in Boston. However, I caution the fans that somebody has to get the ball to these stars in right position so they can go to WORK. OOOOHHH if we could get a gaurd like Agent 0....Gilbert Arenas but it will be an exciting year in Beantown just the same.

Except maybe for the Boston Bruins.

The B's did get a significant upgrade in Fernandez at net, however.

Did you watch the NBA last year? The best teams were in the West, Dallas, Phoenix, San Antonio, Utah etc. Cleveland wouldn't have made it out of the first round if they played in the West yet they represented the East in the Finals. THings can change quickly but for right now the West is way better.
  • Its good to see the East developing into a much more high quality conference with the trades/signings of the off-season. The Celtics will obviously be the most improved team in the NBA with Pierce, Garnett, and Allen. Depth is clearly going to be an issue, but hopefully they'll pick up a few more roleplayers to fill out the team.

The Magic look to be a much better team next year with Rashard Lewis and an ever maturing Dwight Howard. The Knicks picked up Randolph and dumped off Francis. The Bobcats managed to hold onto Gerald Wallace and brought in Jason Richardson.

The net result of all of this should be a much more competitive Eastern conference that will hopefully be able to rival the quality of the big guns in the west.

All the same, being a Canadian, I'm a raps fan. So, I'd get a lot of personal enjoyment out of seeing the Celtics flop :)... sorry bostonlou

I wouldn't want Arenas at the point. Yes, he distributes the ball, but put him on the team and you've got 4 guys that want to score 25+ a night. It's tough enough with three guys like that. Add Arenas to the mix and I doubt the team would gel or have any chemistry. Sure they would probably make the playoffs, but I wouldn't count on a deep run. What Boston needs is a point like what Rondo can become if he continues to develop. Rondo does a decent job of running the offense and gets the ball to the open man, which is what the Celtics need with three scorers in the lineup.

You know you make a great point. I live here in Maryland now after growing up in Beantown and I just love Agent 0. I even root for the WIZ except when the C's come to town. I totally forgot about how he would mesh with our new big 3 it wouldn't work.

Where I work here in DC, Red used to live 2 floors up from me and I wonder how he would feel about all this? I miss his energy at our card games.

    Thanks again for the autographs.

Perkins has zero offensive game and is perennially injured. Big baby was getting his shot rejected at an alarming pace in Vegas SL, he has no lift (at 6'9" and 877 lbs who is surprised), and I think will be too slow and heavy to succeed in the NBA.

Perkins, if healthy should suffice. They don't need him to score, just rebound and play D.

Way better? I don't really think so. I think the styles are easier to watch in the west, but to say way better is not accurate. People have been saying that about the west for years now and it just isn't so. It's gone every other year for five years now...
